Chapter 3

I wake up happy because it's Saturday. We won our football game last night and went out after to celebrate. As I get out of bed there is a knock on my door. I hurry up and throw on shorts and a hoodie. When I open the door I see Jackson standing there. Realizing that I didn't brush my hair, I quickly run my hair through it. "Hey sorry if I woke you but I was wondering if I could borrow a cup of vinegar" he says. "Uh sure, come on in" I say. He walks in my house as I go into the kitchen and pour some vinegar in a cup. I walk back to where he is standing. "Are you cooking something?" I ask. "Yeah. Thanks for the vinegar" he says, leaving quickly. That was weird. I go back into my room and pick out what I really want to wear that day. I put my hair in a high pony tail and I wear my favorite crop top. Then my brother wakes up, his name is Taylor. "Who was at the door?" He asks. "Just the neighbors. Wanted to borrow some vinegar" I say. I eat breakfast and then I go outside and ride my skateboard. I'm riding it up and down the street when Jackson comes outside; he rides next to me on a long board. "I didn't know you board" he says. "Just for fun" I reply. "You know how to ride a like board?" He asks me. "No, only a penny" I say. "I'll teach you. Step onto my board" I step on and realize how much bigger it is. I almost loose my balance and fall but he holds onto my waist. "I got you" he whispers. I smile at him.

After an hour of being outside we go into his house. "Want something to drink?" He asks. "Water is fine, thanks" I say. He leaves the room and then his dad comes in. "Hello sweetie" he says. "Hi.." I say, creeped out. "Jackson did a nice job" "what?" Then Jackson walks into the room. "Dad this is our neighbor, Kendall" he says. "Nice to meet you" the dad says. "Nice to meet you too" I say. He looks into my eyes and then walks out. I wonder what that was about. "Sorry my dad is always weird when I have girls over" Jackson says. "It's fine" I say. How many girls have been here? We play video games for a bit and then we start to play 'never have I ever'. I notice that there is something on Jacksons shoulder so I lean in to grab it. But he pulls away. "Sorry there was something on your shoulder" I say. "Oh okay" he said. Why won't he turn around and look at me? "Jackson are you okay?" I ask. "Yeah I'm good" he says turning around. "I think there is something in your eye. It looks a little red" I say. "Really? I'll go check" he says. I hear him and his dad talking. "What were you thinking? You can't invite her into this house!" His dad says. "Dad I'm fine, I can have friends come over." Jackson says. "Just be careful around her" his dad says.
