Tonight is the homecoming dance. One of my favorite days of the entire year. I've been preparing for weeks. I went to the nail salon today and got a French mani-pedi. I'm now straightening my hair. Every strand has to be perfectly straight. I wonder if Jackson is going, I forgot to ask him. My hair takes me an hour to do but it looks perfect. Then I go in my bathroom and do my makeup which takes me about a half hour. I put on foundation to hide every flaw in my face, then I curled my eyelashes, after that I put on dark eyeshadow, then some mascara, and last but not least, light pink lipstick. I slip on my tight blue dress which has sequins on the top. It stops before my knees and hugs my body perfectly. I put on my silver heels and walk out of my bedroom. My brother catches a glimpse of me.
"What do you think?" I ask him.
"You look really good" he says. I roll my eyes.
"But remember; no drinking, no drugs, and no sex." He adds.
"It's a school dance" I say laughing.
Just then Tabby and Camryn arrive to take pictures. Tabby is wearing a tight black dress that stops a few inches before her knees. Camryn is wearing a pink strapless dress that is tight up top but flows at the bottom with black heels. All of our dresses are short but not too short; if you didn't know us, you could still tell that we run the school. Tabby also decided to straighten her hair and Camryn curled it. We look amazing. My brother drops us off at school and we hear a few "oohs" as we walk in, and even a flirty whistle. We have to wait in line so we just talk.
"Do you think they will be here?" Tabby asks.
"I don't know. I hope so" Camryn says.
"Yeah cuz we look really good" I say.
"Tabby is Keegan coming?" I ask her.
"He said he would" she says.
Tabby has been dating this guy named Keegan but they have been on rough terms lately. She thinks that he's into someone else.
"At this point, I don't even know if we're dating" she says.
We all think that there is a mystery girl that he's into. We finally go in and start to dance when we see the guys.
"They're here" Camryn whispers.
"Just act casual" I say.
We continue to dance when tabbys phone buzzes.
"Keegan's calling, brb" she says walking out.
Tabby POV
"Hey where are you?" I say answering.
"I'm not gonna be able to make it tonight. I forgot that I have plans" he says.
My heart breaks in a million pieces. We have been planning this night forever. And now he bails out when I'm already here?
"We have been planning this night since we started dating" I say.
"I know but things just came up. We can get together some other night"he says.
"You always say that and you always cancel on me"
"I know but I'm just really busy"
"I'm tired of feeling like I'm not worth it to you"
"I didn't say that I'm just too busy"
"Too busy to have a girlfriend?"
"Don't make this seem like I'm the bad guy. You are so needy"
"Whatever, I'm done. Don't call me, don't text me, don't email me, and don't even speak to me. We are done Keegan!"
I hang up the phone and cry a little bit. I see Josh walk up. Great he's gonna see me crying like a baby. He sits down next to me.
"Tabby what's wrong?" He says to me.
"Oh nothing" I lie
"If nothing was wrong you would be dancing with your friends."
"My boyfriend just ditched me and broke up with me"
"Well that's his loss. He clearly doesn't deserve someone like you. Let's go inside and dance it off"
"Okay"
Maybe this night won't be so terrible. Kendall sees me walk in with him and gives me the thumbs up. We walk up to them and all start dancing.
Kendall POV
Josh and tabby walk up to us, together. I guess he came to the rescue. Jackson and Cameron walk up to us and we all dance for a while. Josh and tabby walk off and go get drinks. Camryn and Cameron go with them.
"You look really nice tonight" Jackson says to me dancing.
"Thanks" I smile.
Then all of a sudden a slow song comes on. Me and my friends leave the dance floor to get some food. We are all sitting down when we see a new girl. She's wearing an aqua colored dress.
"Whose that?" Camryn asks.
"I don't know. She must new because I've never seen her before" I say.
We are all staring at her when Cameron comes up behind Camryn. "Come dance with me" he whispers in her ear.
Camryn follows him to the dance floor.
"Lucky" tabby says under her breath.
"Yea where did Josh and Jackson go?" I say
Just after that Josh swoops in and grabs tabby. Well I guess I'm alone. I go to where the drinks are when someone taps me on the shoulder.
"Why aren't you out there?" Jackson says.
"It's a slow song.." I say.
It's really awkward until he says "well do you wanna go dance?"
