Chapter 15

I look out my window and see Jackson and his girlfriend outside playing around and kissing. The sight pains me. I close the curtains and watch some tv. I change into some comfy clothes- sweats and a tank. Then I put my hair in a messy bun. I'm watching one of my favorite shows- Greys anatomy- when their is a knock at the door. I look at the clock and realize that I've been binge watching for nearly two hours. I open the door and see Jackson standing there, worried.

"Have you seen my brother, Gale?" He asks.

"No" I say annoyed.

"When was the last time you saw him?"

"Bye!" I say shutting the door in his face. But he stops it with his hand.

"Please, help me!"

"Why should I? After what you did to me? How dare you even come to my house? Just leave me alone" I say.

I try to close the door but he stops it with his hand again.

"Look I'm sorry for what I did. Can't we just forget it ever happened? And can you please help me find my brother?"

"You're an even bigger ass than I thought. Your brother did the right thing, he got the hell away from you."

This time when I slam the door it's for good, his hand not stopping. I look through the peep hole and see him stand there for a second, then he walks away with his hands in his pockets. I can't believe he just wants me to forget.

Camryn comes over and we talk about what happened.

"I can't believe that he wants you to just forget everything, what a jerk" she says.

"Yeah. So how's it with your guy? Anything new?" I ask.

"Not really. We're friends but I don't think he wants to be more. He just doesn't seem into me" she replies.

"His loss."

It's been 6 hours. Camryn left a while ago. Then there's a knock at the door.

I look through the window and see Jackson standing there.

"Go away" I say annoyed.

"Please just hear me out" he says.

I open the door and see him standing there. His hair is all ruffled and his jeans are ripped.

"Look I'm sorry for what I said. But my brother is missing. And when he goes missing people get hurt. He hurts people. If you see him please stay away." He says.

"Jackson we had something. We were something. And now you just want me to forget? To pretend that it never happened? Well it did happen. Now I'm sorry about your freak of a brother who is M.I.A., but I'm not sorry for what happened between us.  But I'll forget, cuz I guess it never mattered" I say.

I'm on the brink of tears but I don't let them fall. I can't let him see me weak.
He walks away without saying a word. I watch him walk away until he turns the corner and disappears.
