"And that's how you do a proper star chart".Noelle stared at him blankly "Sirius, you've only put your name on it".
"Ugh Noelle, you're too difficult to teach. I can't do this anymore".
She arched an eyebrow and she could've sworn that he had flinched. "Okay. I'll just leave then".
"No!" he cleared his throat and spoke in a well collected manner "I mean, I was just kidding. I'm barely getting started, don't think so lowly of me Ellie".
She plopped back down next to him and muttered "Yet".
Two hours later, Noelle could finally say she was getting the hang on Astronomy. She had always been in love with the stars and the skies, but she couldn't locate Ursa Major for the life of her. With Sirius though, everything seemed a bit easier. There was something in the way he spoke the names of every constellation with a small smile on his face that made her chest with appreciation and a little bit of something else. The tower fell off that spell of peace and comfortableness when Noelle made the mistake to ask "How do you know all of this stuff? I mean I know you're named after a star, but why?"
The smile fell off his face when she said those words, his pale but beautiful face turned deadly in a matter of seconds. His jaw tightened and only then did she realize the mistake made.
"Forget it, that was rude of me-"
"You should ask your dear Reggie, don't you think? Better yet, ask mother, after all you're all buddy buddy with her" there was an underlying tone to his words, but she couldn't pick it up for she was already heated about the topic at hand.
"Are you honestly claiming I'm friends with Walburga Black?" she hissed, nothing but venom in her voice "Just so you know I spend time in that house for Regulus, because apparently someone has forgotten that he has a brother and spends all of his time in another's house, not giving a damn for his little brothers well being. Do you know how many times Regulus has slept with me because he has nightmares of your parents beating you? How he feels completely useless when they attack you? He's depressed, he has constant anxiety attacks. I caught him once getting high off his arse because there were monsters in his room, because he was sad and wanted to forget the shit life he has. I know you think really lowly of him and Slytherins in general, but don't be a git to him because he's a kid. And I know you think that he loves being on a pedestal, being the golden child, turns out that's all for appearances, he's told me countless of times that if he can't get away from this he'll end up losing his mind and committing suicide. So don't you think for a second that I enjoy spending my time in The Noble House of Black, because I don't. The only reason I do is for Regulus, because I care" with that she got her bag and left him there, sitting in the floor of the Astronomy Tower.
Noelle knew she had been a bit harsh on him, but she couldn't help but defend the boy that seemed so lost, the boy that had grown up too fast, the boy that would make all the wrong choices...
The next day, Noelle sat at the farthest corner of the library, the section surrounding her being Arithmancy, the books in that area were extremely old and no one really liked using them, except the select few that knew those books had everything you ever needed for an assignment. Currently, Noelle was doing an assignment on said subject and she was so engrossed in her work that she didn't notice Sirius Black sitting next to her. She was only aware of his presence when he picked a strand of her hair and said "Why do you smell of pineapple and mangoes?"
As expected, she jumped and slammed shut the book she was using, resulting in Sirius cursing loudly because his other hand was there. She put her hand in his mouth when he started cussing even louder.
