For most of his life Remus Lupin had been a shy kid. But life for Remus hadn't always been that way. Remus used to be a happy and charismatic child. He loved reading and making people smile, specially his mom. Hope Lupin was the kindest soul on earth and little Remus knew this very well. He loved making her flower crowns and then bringing them up to her, the smile on her face was always worth it. Remus always loved going out into the woods to get the prettiest flowers for his mom, but this changed drastically on one cold summer night.

Remus was almost five years old when Fenrir Greyback bit him and infected him with lycanthropy.

Ever since that frightening night, Remus isolated himself from everyone, even his parents, and would only turn to books in hopes to make the next full moon go by faster. He soon realized that this was useless and he couldn't do anything but live with it. He never made any friends for he was afraid of their reaction once they found out what he was, so he resorted to no company but himself.

Life seemed to be testing him once more when he got his Hogwarts letter when he was eleven years old.

He went, fearsome of the judging looks people would give him. As if people already knew of his lycanthropy he tried futilly to isolate himself from people, only James Potter and Sirius Black were too stubborn and didn't seem to get the sign that Remus didn't want them around, or so he told himself. Because Remus had always wanted friends and now this was the perfect opportunity for that. No one had to know of his lycanthropy, he could just keep it a secret for the next seven years, right? Wrong.

So Remus Lupin was bound to meet Lily Evans, he had always quite liked the girl and he would always apologize whenever James or Sirius or both teased her or pranked her. Lily also quite liked the boy even if she didn't really understand how he could be friends with such foul-some evil little toe rags as James and Sirius were, he sometimes wondered that as well. But the really interesting story was how he came to know Noelle Moon.

It had only been a week since they were sorted and had begun their first year, and Remus being his oh so responsible self, was heading to the library to do his homework. The library had been quite empty upon his arrival so he headed towards to back of the library to start on said homework, but first he needed the books required for such assignment. As he was going down one of the many sections of the library he heard cursing and being his curious self he followed the voice that kept muttering and cursing Salazar's name really loudly. When he came to next aisle he was bewildered with what he saw. On top of a table were multiple books placed on top of the other and top of the last book stood a girl on her toes trying to reach a book from the topshelf.

Remus didn't really think and stood behind her and said "You do know you can summon the book right?" Clearly Remus didn't think of the consequences of startling a girl on top of numerous books that were on top a table because said girl dropped the book in hand, landing with a thud on his head before falling to the ground and when he realized what was going on, the girl was already sprawled on top of him.

"Am I dead? I see the light, I'm in heaven, aren't I?" she was muttering dramatically with a hand to her forehead and Remus groaned, his body aching because it was more his body could take a week before the full moon.

"No you aren't, now can you please move? You're just as dramatic and heavy as Sirius"

"Ugh I assume you've had the displeasure of meeting him and his friend. I guess he's nicer, the one with the birds nest for hair?" she asked to make sure he knew who she was talking about while removing herself from where she lay on top of Remus and offered him a hand.

"That would be James, yes. They're both my roommates"

"Roommates. I pity you" she shrugged and turned to the books to pile them up and take them to the nearest table.
