The girl let out another exasperated sigh as her friend kept trailing behind her, asking for something so obviously impossible, in her eyes.

"James can you just stop? You're driving me crazy" she turned to him glaringly and he abruptly stopped before he could crash into her.

"Ellie I'm just placing up an offer. A very good one at that" he leaned his body against the book shelves cooly staring at her.

Noelle sighed once more before shaking her head "I don't get it. Why would you ask me to go on a date with Black, we don't even like each other" she placed another book on its place before walking towards another aisle. The boy followed behind her, the same way he had been doing for the past few minutes.

"Because I have this theory-"

"Enlighten me"

"I always do" she glared at him and he gave her a cheeky smile "My theory states that after some very exhausting research, two of my very dearly and beloved friends-"

"Get to the point Jamie" she grunted in exasperation at his antics.

"He has a crush on you" she snorted in her uncommon way and stared at him.

"I think he has a crush on you, I mean the guy practically worships you" she turned around and headed towards her awaiting table, full of assignments.

"Well duh. I have a crush on him too, unfortunately for him it's just that, because I love-"

"Lily" she ungracefully plopped into her chair and he sat informe of her.

"Precisely"

"James" she looked at him looking for a way to tell him without hurting his feelings, probably so he wouldn't pull a very dramatic scene in the middle of a very full library "Sirius and I, it's not gonna happen"

"UGH" she flinched at his booming voice and hopped that Mrs. Pince was nowhere near.

"Besides I'm quite content with my status. Later in the evening I'm meeting a very cute Hufflepuff" she said contently writing some things in her parchment.

He pouted childishly and crossed his arms "But you would look so good together-"

"I look great alone"

"I know but-"

"Why are you so set on this?" she placed her quill down and gave him her full attention, something he basked in.

"Because"

"Because what?"

"Just because"

"James are the boys busy?" his cheeks flushed in embarrassment at being caught "Jamie I'm hurt that you only come to me because you're bored"

"It's just that Remus is with Lily doing prefect duties, Peter got detention for sleeping in class and Sirius is Merlin knows where" she frowned at the mention of the small mousy boy and was glad he didn't notice.

"He's probably snogging someone in a broom closet" she shrugged.

"Yeah probably. Ooh I'm gonna go interrupt him" and just like that he was off, not long after he returned and kissed her on the cheek "bye favorite snake"

"The only snake you like" he nodded effusively at her and she smiled.

"The only one I will, ever. Love you Ellie, bye!" this time he actually left and she remained in her seat staring at where he had stood.
