"I can't believe he invited you to the party"

It had been a few days since Sirius Black had invited Noelle to the birthday-Halloween-costume-party. She was, of course, excited because the school didn't host many parties and the occasional would be thrown by each house separately. The Slytherin house often threw parties but she didn't get along with many of her housemates so she avoided them altogether, only going sometimes to keep Regulus company or Sebastian Parkinson, who was one of her only other friends from Slytherin. She had met Sebastian when the Sorting had begun, he had been infront of her and mumbled something about how silly the whole thing was and she had insulted him with big words that, normally, would've been difficult to understand for an eleven year old. For some reason he had stared at her for a few seconds and then beamed at her, telling her that that was the start of a great friendship.

Now it was Saturday and Noelle sat at the furthest corner of the library with Lily Evans, the two doing their homework whilst gossiping.

"You make it sound as if it I were the worst person to invite to a party" Noelle teased as she wrote some of her answers on her parchment.

"You know what I mean" Lily flicked her forehead making Noelle pout at her "I'm jut surprised he invited YOU a SLYTHERIN to a party. I mean you know I love you and you're not like the rest of those pricks from your house, and you also have many friends from the other houses, but Sirius doesn't really like Slytherins, like at all. I would've expected that from Jam-Potter, not him"

Noelle tried not to smile at the mention of her friend. It was very clear to her that Lily did have feelings for James, but she still saw him as a kid who was too arrogant and immature to ever date. "I guess you're right. Which reminds me that we need costumes"

"I've always hated picking up costumes"

"Lils you could throw a freaking bag over your head and you would still look great"

"You won't be seeing my face"

"Exactly" she narrowed her eyes at Noelle "my point is that you look amazing no matter what you wear, so don't fret over that and let me handle it"

"That's precisely what I'm afraid of" Noelle glared at Lily and she smiled sheepishly.

"Look, I promise it will make you look great and I won't make you wear it if it makes you uncomfortable. I always respect you guys on those things, I'm not gonna push you into something you don't want to do"

Lily smiled at her friend because she knew that Noelle had been through a lot. She never went telling what happened to her because she hated it when people pitied her and there were only a handful of people who knew her story. What had happened to her in the past would've been enough for others to lose hope and give up, but she didn't. She always thought about how those close to her would handle things without her around and that was one of the main reasons she stayed strong and didn't let any bullshit get through her. And slowly, but surely, she got better and started taking care of herself and she started being selfish, because no one was going to love her and treat her like a queen but herself. And she was the best at it.

"I know Ellie, I know. For that reason I'm gonna listen to whatever crazy costume idea you've come up with"
Noelle muttered a yes un punched the air silently, Lily only giggled.

"Okay so you remember about those comics I showed you during summer?"

"Yes! They were actually really good, I thought I wouldn't like them, I mean I always see the boys at the common room talking about them, sometimes they even giggle while reading it. Especially Potter and Black" Noelle snorted at this and gave herself sometime to imagine them, making her grin widely at the thought.

"God this mental picture is great"

"Get to the point Ellie"

"Right, so since Ruby and Kasumi said they were going to make their costumes and I honestly don't have the ability to be that creative nor the time, I thought about sending my mom an owl so she could get us costumes"

"Is it just us?"

"No, Malia doesn't have one either"

"But what are we going as?"

"Do you trust me Lily Flower?"

She glared at Noelle but nodded in the end. Noelle sighed contently, putting her head on her fist "They won't know what hit 'em"
