Sirius Black has had his fair share of women in his life, but there was something about her that drove him mad. Maybe it was the similarities in their personalities, maybe it was her gorgeous looks, maybe it was her being a little too nice and overl...
1978 had been a rough year for everyone and as 1979 began they could only hope that this year was better for them. But knowing that Voldemort and his followers were getting stronger as days passed, the chances of having a calm year were starting to look bleak.
That didn't stop James Fleamont Potter from asking the love of his life, Lily Evans, to marry him.
It had been quite simple. He had spent so many weeks trying to plan with Sirius the perfect way of asking her and even Lily had begun to worry when he would spasm out of nowhere, only for it to be that he wanted to ask her to marry him. On the other hand, Sirius had been pissed because James had kept him up for nights on end trying to plan it for it to end on him landing on his butt while they ice skated, the little box falling out of his pocket and him sending Lily to pick it up. As the girl had picked up the blue velvety box she had gasped and turned around to meet James to see him knelt down and taking her hand in his much larger and colder one.
Lily wouldn't have had it any other way though.
Their friends were ecstatic once they learnt the news when they told them over dinner one time. Their group had dwindled in numbers a bit after Ruby married Sebastian and they left for France until the war blew over. For some reason Sebastian had been able to come up with some excuse to not become a Death Eater and still live, so the group was happy for them. Ever since Noelle had barged in to The Order of the Phoenix's meeting their friends didn't feel the need to hide the fact that they had been maintaining contact with her while also doing the same thing with Sirius, seeing as they both seemed relatively okay around each other. Except for the numerous times they would almost chew each others head off for the simplest things.
"Ah! And she decides to show up!"
"Sirius please don't start"
"Unlike you, Black, some of us have things to do during the day besides lying on our couches waiting for life to pass" Noelle had only entered the little restaurant Lily and James had invited her to when she was basically assaulted by the Black boy.
"And you defend her Lily?!" he stared dumbfounded at the red head and looked back at the doe eyed girl who now sat next to him "For your information I do have things to do, like going on raids with other Aurors and that's more than I can so about you" he leaned back into his chair and took out a cigarette from his pocket.
"First off Lily wasn't defending me, she called you out for being a prick and starting shit when they just want to talk to us. Secondly, wasn't I the one saving you from a killing curse last week when you got into a spitting feast with Lucius Malfoy? Yeah, that's what I thought" Noelle shrugged off her woolen jacket from her shoulders and placed it on the back of her chair. Sirius attention was drawn to a mark he knew for sure wasn't on her neck three days ago. "Sorry for being late, Jamie, Lils, I got... caught up"
"Yeah, I can see that" James teased looking at her slightly disheveled appearance, the girl in question blushed muttering a "bugger off" just as Lily hit the boy in the back of his head "Hey! I was only teasing!"
"Yeah, not the time Potter"
