The pounding on his door alerted him of someone's arrival. He hadn't realized he had dozed off in the first place as the rain pelted off his window. Lazily, he got up and opened the door to his flat, freezing over when he saw who was in front of him.

Noelle was soaked and shivering. He didn't know if she was crying or if it was the water from the rain that rolled down her cheeks.

"Moon? What are you doing here?" his voice came out much harsher than he intended and he didn't know who he was putting up a front for because it was just the two of them on his doorstep.

"Sirius." she sobbed and one of his questions was answered. She was crying. "They killed them."

"Who? Who are you talking about?"

"The Death Eaters."

Sirius gasped as he woke up from his slumber as his alarm clock rang loudly through the empty room. He realized with a start that he was sweating and that he had woken up from a nightmare, although these seemed to be happening even more than usual after he graduated from Hogwarts. Sirius placed a hand on his rapid heart and breathed deeply to try and calm himself before he got ready for the day.

"Rise and shine!" a bang came from his door as one James Potter entered the room wearing nothing but boxers and a white t-shirt. The door to his room crashed loudly into the wall behind it and the grey eyed boy sighed, if James kept doing that there would be a hole in that precise spot. "Oh! You're up, today must be my lucky day." James grinned cheekily and jumped on the empty spot beside Sirius.

"I do have an alarm clock you know." Sirius rubbed at his eyes to rid himself of the sleep that was slowly crawling over his tired body.

"If you hear that thing once a week it's a lot." Sirius sighed again and his friend realized something was wrong "What's wrong? You had another nightmare?"

After the two brothers moved in together to a flat they went straight to the Ministry to begin their training to become Aurors. They had received their acceptance letters a few months before graduating from Hogwarts and had been ecstatic to begin this new journey. Everyone was pretty much doing their own thing. Lily had also entered the Auror Program the Ministry offered and was already excelling in it, along with a few others that had graduated with the group. Remus unffortunately found himself jumping from job to job because of his furry little problem. The group saw Peter less each day that passed and he would always make up a new excuse. The latest was that his mother was very ill and he needed to take care of her. No one wanted to point the obvious, which was that he had done so terribly in school he hadn't gotten accepted into the Auror Program or any other program for that matter. Mary and Kasumi were becoming very well known in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes, mainly in the Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee as they were in charge of making up events explaining all magical accidents. Ruby and Sebastian had gotten married, the latter getting a job in the Department of Mysteries, but no one knew which office. Malia was studying to become a Magizoologizt and Nicolas was sought out by Puddlemere United to play as Chaser and had gotten married in December.

Sirius hadn't heard anything about Noelle since Malia's and Nicolas' wedding.

Now he knew she wanted to become a teacher. What he didn't know was that the Ministry offered a Program to prepare future teachers in whichever subject they chose. So it was a bittersweet surprise when he saw her fancily dressed walking in front of the Fountain of Magical Brethren with a few other people as they laughed about something he didn't know on his second week at the Auror Program. After that initial encounter, in which only Sirius saw Noelle, he asked James about what she was doing there. James told him about her entering the Program with flying colors and many recommendation letters from her past professors, and how her current professors wanted her to become a teacher in their subject. Sirius was left speechless when James told her she was studying to become an Astronomy professor.
