"Everyone's dead"

"Be a little more empathetic, will you?" Lily Potter glared at the figure of Moody as he barged into the house, followed by Remus and James.

Sirius had been in the kitchen, preparing some tea for Noelle when they arrived. When he heard them he walked into the living room and gave the shaking girl the tea. Noelle looked at Sirius and attempted a smile, but it came more as a grimace.

"People die every day Evans"

"It's Potter now, Moody. You know that" James reminded.

"Yeah yeah, same thing"

"And it's not the same thing as seeing all your loved ones being killed in front of you"

Lily glared at her husband as Noelle started crying again "Not helping James"

"Shit - fuck! I mean, sorry. I'll shut up now" he walked towards the couch and sat himself down, looking at Noelle worriedly.

"You only recognized three death eaters right, Moon?"

"Yeah. Bellatrix killed my father, Severus Snape cast Sectumsempra at... at my boyfriend and Evan Rosier hexed Severus so I could escape" 

"Ah. The aurors arrived at the scene right after we did and they're taking care of the four corpses-"

"Four?"

"Evan Rosier was found dead"

Noelle's body froze over and she started crying into her hands. Lily brought her into her arms and held her tightly as she sobbed. Moody waited until she calmed down enough to ask if she wanted to do a proper burial for them and after getting his answer he left the flat.

No one spoke a word, not until Noelle sighed and sat up. Her eyes were still red, as was her nose, and her cheeks were puffy from all the crying and rubbing her cheeks, but she knew she owed them answers.

"I owe you guys an explanation"

"You don't owe us anything Noelle. You deserve to grieve" Lily took Noelle's and in hers and squeezed. 

"I don't have time to grieve. I'll do that when the war is over and I can do a little grieving when I bury them or burn them"

"Alright, but first..." Remus took out a tiny item from his pocket and pulled out his wand, mumbling a spell before a small trunk enlarged in front of them "I was only able to get some clothes and your purse, seeing as the aurors were going to investigate"

"We can go with you at another time to get whatever else you need" James added and squeezed her knee, trying to comfort her.

"You guys should be in hiding"

"There are more pressing matter at the moment, Elle" Lily ran her fingers through  her friends raven hair and the girl could only nod sleepily as she nuzzled into Lily's side.

"Okay. What do you want to know?"

"You're an animagus" James pointed out, thinking it was the easiest way to start this conversation.

"Yeah, since third year"

"How?" 

"McGonagall. I asked her and she told me she'd only show me how if I became one legally and I agreed. I only wanted to do so to help Rem's transitions"

"Since when did you know about him?" this time Sirius was the one to ask.

"First year. I helped him through the transitions from third year to fifth year, by then you guys had already managed to become animals so I stopped helping him. Three was already one too many, four it would've been a crowd" Noelle tried to joke but it came flat and dry.
