Memories rushed through Renée's mind as she got down the bus to step on the soil of Paris. She was back to the city that ruined her, but would it make her this time?
She had slept on a bench in front of a library last night, using her backpack as her pillow while she had gazed at the million stars above her. As soon as dawn broke out, she had hurried towards the nearest bus station, buying a ticket en-route to Paris.
Renée was searching to get on a metro to the Mr. Balloon's address, as it was the cheapest way, when a little boy pulled at her hand.
"Maman" he said, a frown appearing on his face.
Renée moved back, startled, before bending to his level.
"Uhh..bonjour, Est ce que ça va?" Renée asked in french if he was alright.
"J..Je veux ma maman" he said, asking for his mother, his eyebrows scrunching up, highlighting his watery brown eyes.
Renée tensed, the little boy was lost.
