Zephyr had a huge family, the grandparents, the uncles, the cousins, it was almost overwhelming. Zephyr's parents had warmly welcomed her, maybe the charm ran in their blood. The house had a really cozy vibe going on with the Easter decorations and the lit fireplace. Renée hadn't realized it was Easter, she wondered how time had gone and how unaware she had been.

The kitchen counter top was arranged with food in a buffet manner, considering the amount of people in the house, the dining table could hardly fit them. Laughter filled the air, as the kids teased each other with egg puns and everybody was sporting smiles of joy. Renée's eyes dropped traitor tears at the sight. It was what she couldn't have, a stable family, a family bound by love, the only thing she ever wished for. She didn't want to make a scene so she excused herself to the bathroom.

"They are such a beautiful, loving family. But you, you just have fragments of a broken family. You deserve this, Renée, this is your fate, unhappiness and sorrow" Ciara said.

Renée cried, vigorously, for the first time in days. Everything weighed upon her, her thoughts messy like a maze. Except this maze was endless and unsolvable. Nothing made sense, she curled up into a ball, she gritted her teeth, she pulled at her hair in frustration, she let out silent screams, she pinched her palms raw, all the while her heart thudding violently against her chest. She eyed the bath tub, longing for these feelings to be gone. She longed to vanish.
