Self Harm warning...

I walked into his room for the third time this week, I ran my hand along the bed sheets. There was just no way he was actually dead, there just was no convincing me. Dean could see my pain, but I didn't think he knew why it hurt so much. I sat down on the bed and felt the mattress sink, I took a deep breath and the air still smelled like him. I noticed the bed was a mess, I stood up and made the bed like I used to. I used to make the bed and tuck the blankets into the mattress neatly every time he got out of bed, I'd kiss his forehead and tell him good morning. He'd always laugh and tell me he loved me, I remembered cuddling him on this bed and kissing his lips softly. I missed the sugary taste that always lingered on my lips after I finally pulled away from him, I remembered having to listen for the bunker door so Dean or Castiel wouldn't get suspicious. My eyes finally started to well up, a week without him seemed like forever, I was too used to having him around. Dean and Castiel never got to know, me and Gabriel never got the satisfaction of coming out to our brothers. I felt in my jacket pocket, the piece of metal was cold on my fingertips as I pulled it out of my pocket. I remember him telling me to stop, telling me I wasn't deserving of the pain I gave myself. I just held the blade, tossing it back and forth. He wouldn't want this, don't do this, he would be so disappointed and upset. He cared about you, you selfish prick. And you cared about him, I thought about him for what felt like hours and it made me smile. The memories flooded happiness throughout my being, the daydreaming felt all too real as my smile sat slightly.

"Sammy, I've got a case for us!" I heard Dean call for me, I sighed and ran my hand along one of the pillows. I ran into one of Gabriel's golden feathers, I held it and smiled. I tucked the feather carefully into my jacket pocket, I left the blade on a shelf in the room. I wasn't really sure why I would be less tempted to hurt myself if it was in here.

"Coming," I call back and wipe my face. I didn't want to look like I was crying or upset in front of Dean or Castiel, or anyone for that matter. I walked to where Dean was sitting and sat next to him.

"Shapeshifter, or something like that... It's not hurting anyone but it's still a Supernatural force that is targeting people over 6 feet tall?" Dean questioned himself, I nodded because it sounded pretty weird. There's been weirder so we figured it was worth a look.

"It'll be coming for you too 6 foot 4 so you might as well get your sleep in tonight," Dean laughed and I smiled. It wasn't a real smile but I wanted Dean to know I still had a sense of humor, even though I didn't really laugh anymore.

"Goodnight Sammy," Dean smiled,

"Sleep well Dean," I nod to him before I go to bed. By bed I mean I toss and turn restlessly until my eyes get too heavy and I pass out.

"Rise and shine Sammy," Dean yells from my bedroom door.

"I told you to stop saying that," I reply annoyed.

"Whatever, get up and get dressed. We're off!" Dean yells and walks out of the room, I sigh and run a hand through my hair. I get up and pull my shirt off, I run my hands along my wrist where three deep cuts sit. I know Dean has seen them, he hasn't said anything to me about them. He knows I'm having a rough time and he is just choosing to let me have my space, which I guess I can appreciate. I pull a new shirt on and a pair of jeans, I walk to the front door where Dean and shrugging his leather jacket on. Castiel is also down there next to him, he looks at me and nods to show that he saw me.

"Let's go," I say to get Dean's attention and we pile into the Impala. I look over at the empty spot next to me, I remember all the times that Gabriel would appear there randomly and have that cute smirk on his face.

"Sam, is everything okay back there?" Dean asks and I meet his eyes in the rear view mirror, I nod and look back over at the empty seat.

"I'm fine Dean," I say quietly and I know he doesn't believe me.

We get to the place and start looking around, talking to people, and try to find any leads other than this shape shifter that was targeting tall people. The case in all honesty reminded me of Gabriel, when I mentioned the idea to Dean he brushed it off. 'He's dead' was all he could really conclude and I just shrugged, deep inside something would not let me believe he was dead.

"Hey how's it going handsome?" A woman called from behind us, we all turned around to see a short curvy woman with a sucker in her hand. She had short golden blonde hair and whiskey-colored eyes, she was short and had a sarcastic smirk on her face. Dean both was surprised by how good she looked, she was hot.

"The tall one, you're easy on the eyes ain't ya?" The girl giggled and put the sucker back into her mouth, I raised an eyebrow and scoffed.

"Oh don't tell me I'm barkin' up the wrong tree, you're much too attractive for that." She complained and walked over to me, she looked me up and down and held her fingers on her sucker stick.

"Alright, can I ask you about something? We are wondering about the disappearance of Randy Forager, Johnson Ridge, and Daniel Either." Dean cleared his throat and she smiled wide, she pulled her sucker from between her lips and threw it on the ground.

"All very tall men huh," she whispered and raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah that was the lead," Dean said and she laughed.

"You caught me, I'll return them they aren't hurt or anything of course. I just wanted your guy's attention." She said and turned her back towards them, Dean and I looked at each other with confused expressions. She turned around and saw our faces, she laughed some more and her... or his body shifted. It was Gabriel.

"I am alive fortunately and I am here to tell you that I want to come back," Gabriel smiled and held his arms out. I didn't think it was real, it was a shapeshifter.

"Is it really you brother?" Castiel asked and Gabriel nodded, I was still skeptical as Castiel pulled him into a hug.

"Prove it," I say loudly as Castiel lets go of Gabriel.

"Right," Gabriel sighs and snaps his fingers. The three men appear in front of them, all looked dazed and confused.

"Here's those people you were looking for, hope this satisfies you." Gabriel said as the men walked off, they were all squinting at the sudden sunlight.

"There's no way it's you, did you hear my prayers?" I ask him and he nods, his smile disappeared.

"Of course I did, I tried to come back as soon as I could kiddo." Gabriel said to me and I smiled at him, I walked over to him and pulled him into a quick tight hug. He awkwardly wrapped his arms around me and pat my back.

"Good to see you too but," Gabriel said and then he whispered, "your brother's over there don't make this too fruity." I pulled away from him and laughed, when I was done laughing I got an idea. I smirked at Gabriel and he must've saw that an idea was forming in my head.

"What're you-" Gabriel started but I interrupted him.

"Too fruity huh?" I raise an eyebrow and put my hands on both sides of Gabriel's face, I pull him up and I bend down to kiss him. I hear Dean make a gagging sound and laugh, I hear Castiel laugh slightly too. I pull away from Gabriel and his face looks astonished yet amused.

"Was that 'too fruity'?" I ask Gabriel who rolls his eyes, I hear Dean mutter something to Castiel.

"Welcome back Gabriel," I laugh and he smiles.

"I missed it," Gabriel smiles and looks at Dean.

"So I didn't need to know that Sam was gay," Dean said awkwardly. We all laughed and walked back to the Impala.
