When the bunker alarms went off I shot up faster than I thought was humanly possible, getting to Castiel and making suee he was okay before searching the bunker with all the protection we could have. Instead of a threat I was met with Gabriel, standing at the end of a long hallway.
"What's up fuc-" Gabriel stopped and his face went more flirty, "damn Sam I'm digging the scruff." I felt myself blush slightly at the words before shaking my head, looking at him angrily.
"I'm gonna go turn the alarms off," Castiel grumbled and walked away.
"Why's he so mad?" Gabriel questioned, "why are you so mad?"
"You pretended to be dead again," I crossed my arms and saw the alarms were off.
"What else am I supposed to do?" He shrugged his arms, "thanks for not leaving my vessel in the apocalypse world too." I blushed slightly at remembering how much I'd begged for Gabriel to not be burned but buried, in our world.
"No problem," I cleared my throat, "how have you been?" His stance and face suddenly became more serious, his bravado ultimately failing.
"Not so good," he chuckled sadly, "no grace or anything. Took me awhile to get here but I also made a few stops along the way, stupid human body."
"Glad your back," I chuckled and smiled up at me with a quick change of his eyes.
"Glad to be back," Gabriel said and licked his lips, "how have you been?"
"Micheal has Dean so I've been working at that," I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.
"What!? How?" Gabriel asked frantically.
"Dean's an idiot let's just say that," I huffed and looked around the empty hallway, "why are you here?"
"No where else to go," he smiled with half his mouth.
"No grace huh, you hungry?" I offered with a small smile, Gabriel smiled back fully and shrugged.
"I could eat," he waggled his eyebrows and I laughed, "let me get cleaned up first."
"Right," I waved him off and noticed he had a bookbag as he walked toward the bathroom. I walked to the library where Castiel was continuing to research, I had only noticed now that the bags under his eyes had their own bags.
"Hey me and Gabriel are going to go out and get dinner," I said and he lifted his head, "you could use a break too. Do you want to go?"
"I won't rest until I find a way to summon Micheal," Castiel said, "you could use the break too Sam. But I can't relax knowing Dean's not okay, I'm sorry."
"It's alright Cas I get it," I smiled sympathetically, "maybe just for tnoight you at least get some more sleep. Eat something and read a book in bed, not a book about the situation. Dean wouldn't want you to work so hard."
"You're right," Castiel said and closed his book, "but I'll stay here."
"Alright Cas," I said quietly and hugged him to the side. He turned so he could pull me into a full hug, I sighed and let him go, he had tears in his eyes which made mine start to well up.
"We'll get there okay?" I whispered and he nodded, I wrapped my hands around his shoulders and squeezed them reassuringly. I smiled at him slightly before walking to another bathroom, I looked at my face in the mirror. When was the last time I looked in the mirror? My beard was actually getting really long, I had started to wash it in the shower I knew it was long but it was whatever. I saw my eyes drooped downward sleepily, my face had a loss of color as well. I took some cold water and scrubbed my eyes, I looked terrible. Had I really stopped paying attention that badly? I brushed through my hair and made sure I didn't stink before slapping on some deodorant. I was startled by a knock at the door, I turned the door and bitchfaced it despite no one being there.
"We spending all day with our hair Sammich?" Gabriel joked and I barked a laugh before adjusting my shirt and stepping out. He was wearing a white shirt with blue sleeves, there was blue writing on it that stated 'I Can Get Dick Anytime I Want' in a basic font. He was wearing black jeans with tears in them, there were some white faded bleach spot on them as well.
"Wow," I gasped slightly astounded before clearing my throat and regretting what I'd just said. Damn he looked so good better than usual. He waggled his eyebrows and I laughed slightly, damn he looked good.
"Ready?" I swallowed and ran the back of my hand over my forehead like I'd been sweating.
"Sure," he smirked, "is Cassie coming?"
"He decided not to go," I said and Gabriel nodded.
"He seemed upset so I tried to talk to him," Gabriel shrugged, "were- are him and Dean a thing?"
"Yeah they are inseparable," I sighed, "it's cute until one of them disappears. Mom loved them together."
"Aw I love that," Gabriel smiled, "I've never really had anything serious with someone. I've always slept around, I love when people are together and in love."
"Aw Gabriel ships it," I cooed sarcastically with a smile. When was the last time I'd been smiling like this, it had to be when we first got Mom and Jack back.
"Wait what about that kid, the witch?" Gabriel asked and we started to walk out of the bunker. Ugh Rowena, no wonder I'm destined to kill her.
"He's with Mom doing smaller cases," I smiled and held the door open for him. We sat in the Impala and I felt something wrong when I started it, I turned the radio off to see if it helped. I sighed and laid back in the seat, starting it and looking over at Gabriel.
"It's been really quiet lately," Gabriel mumbled, "I hate being alone. Do you think I could stay?" He met my eyes and I felt my lip twitch downwards, I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding.
"Yeah," I barely smiled and turned around so I could back the car out.
...
"We have to walk?" Gabriel asked as he unbuckled his seatbelt.
"Not very long it's just across this crosswalk and down that way," I pointed to the sidewalks. They were lit up by the sun and everything was full of life, I didn't realize I was stir crazy until I actually got here. We got out of the car and closed the door, Gabriel joining me at the trunk. He pressed his hand to his hip and offered his arm, I raised an eyebrow and he rolled his eyes.
"Just me and you," Gabriel smiled, "I'd count it as a date."
"Uh," I stammered and he chuckled.
"Come on," he motioned me and I took his arm in my hands, "there you go." I smiled and rolled my eyes, shaking my head slightly.
"It's only awkward because you're five feet tall," I said and he smirked.
"Sorry I'm not used to men over 6 feet tall," he responded and we kept walking with our eyes foreward. His shoulder was pressed right against the bottom of my bicep, my hands tightening around his arm slightly. People's eyes trailed toward us, not in a bad way it's just that people were looking. Some gave us small smiles and others would tell Gabriel 'nice shirt' as we walked by, it was a short walk but with a few stops.
"Sam," Gabriel gasped and walked over to a brick wall with a mural painted on it. There were wings on it that he stood between to make it look like they were his, there were pink and blue swirls around the white wings. There were green trees with eyes on the red bark, all of it was well painted and pretty.
"You're not an angel," I said and crossed my arms. He made a pouty face and I chuckled, I pulled my phone out of my pocket and he smiled before posing. He made it look like he was tucking his hair behind his ear and he smiled, I motioned him to scoot over a little bit so the wings were centered. His face looked like he was laughing and I snapped a few pictures, he barked a laugh and walked over to me. He leaned on my shoulder and looked at the pictures with me.
"I look good," Gabriel nodded and I scoffed before turning my phone off. He stood up and we walked side by side, no longer touching but just walking. He held the door for me when we walked in and we were lead to our seats, we sat across from eachother in a one person booth.
"What did you do while you were gone?" I asked and he chuckled, smirking at me.
"Not much honestly," he answered, "I was hoping to settle in a place. Drink, get some ass at a few bars, and just try to hang around but uh- couldn't do it. Ended up quitting drinking and started smoking pot instead, better for you." I raised my eyebrow and scoffed, looking him up and down in disbelief.
"Why couldn't you?" I asked and crossed my arms on the table, he tapped the side of his head with his finger three times.
"Secret," he smirked at me and locked eyes with the waitress that came by. We ordered drinks and he shot a wink at me as she walked away.
"What?" I laughed and I was so incredibly distracted by his little smirk that quirked up everytime he was about to say something.
"She's pretty," he said suggestively.
"You're not picking up any women in a shirt like that," I pointed and raised an eyebrow.
"I'm not interested whatsoever," he gasped, "I am exclusive to the dick department." I threw my head back laughing at that, he chuckled slightly.
"Why'd you sleep with Rowena and the pornstars in Monte Carlo?" I asked and he sighed, rubbing his temple.
"I'd been pansexual for as long as I could remember but I guess when I came back I was just... disinterested all of a sudden." He answered and I nodded, then the waitress came back with our drinks before I could think too hard about Gabriel getting it on with a man. Gabriel raised an eyebrow at me and I shook my head, I thanked the waitress and we ordered our food.
"No?" Gabriel questioned.
"No," I deadpanned and drank some of my water, "why can't you tell me?"
"Tell you what?" He tilted his head to the side, fuck he's so cute.
"Tell me why you couldn't fuck around?" I asked with a small laugh and he rolled his eyes.
"It's a little complicated," Gabriel smiled shyly and looked at his feet. Aw.
"How so?" I asked being intentionally nosey.
"Mind your business Winchester," he pointed and I laughed a little.
"Fine," I raised my hands in surrender.
...
"I'm guessing you wanna stay here?" I asked and raised an eyebrow, he smiled slightly and nodded as he fell onto the couch.
"If that's alright," Gabriel gave me soft pleading puppy eyes.
"Yeah," I swallowed nervously at his face, "you want a room?"
"Couch is okay," he mumbled and curled around one of the throw pillows. He tucked it under his head and yawned, burying his face in it adorably.
"Goodnight I guess," I laughed.
"Night night thanks for letting me crash here," Gabriel's call was muffled by the pillow as I walked to my room. I shed my shirt and pants, pulling a long sleeve grey undershirt and flannel plaid pants on. I fell onto my bed and I was asleep as soon as I hit the pillow.
...
When I woke up, the last thing I expected was to see a shirtless Gabriel shuffling around aimlessly.
"Oh shit you scared me," he mumbled and ran a hand over his face, "I needed to piss. Where's the bathroom?"
"Uh," I stared at his slightly frumpy stomach and swallowed. Fuck shit, wear a shirt you hot ass piece of shi-
"That way," I pointed and looked at the floor.
"Right thanks," he rushed away and I sighed.
"Fuck," I whispered to myself and ran a hand through my hair, "I've gotta chill out."
"Morning Sam," Castiel said slowly, "are you okay?"
"No no," I blinked, "I need some coffee." Castiel followed me into the kitchen where I poured a cup for me, he watched quietly.
"Cas I thought you would be the pajama type," Gabriel joked as he walked in the kitchen. Castiel was wearing one of Dean's undershirts and boxers, he glared at Gabriel who poured himself a cup of coffee. I looked at Gabriel and my jaw went slack, he was wearing one of those mesh netted shirts with nothing under it that went all the way down to his wrists. He wore a black croptop over it with short sleeves, the word smile written across it in yellow lettering in the metallica font. He was also wearing bright blue platform pumps, obviously sized for wider men's feet. I looked down and-
"Leather pants?" I chuckled at the stupidly tight, sexy-
"Yeah I mean I thought they looked good," he shrugged and drank from his cup of... just sugary milk with a drop of coffee.
"Makes my dick really stand out in the right lighting," Gabriel mumbled and I choked on my coffee.
"That doesn't seem appropriate," Castiel said and Gabriel laughed.
"Why dress like that?" I chuckled and he shrugged.
"I've noticed that when I dress up I tend to feel better about myself which makes me happier," Gabriel smiled cheerfully and I raised an eyebrow with a small smile.
"Maybe you should try croptops Gigantor," Gabriel said and sipped more coffee, "you'd probably pull it off."
"Not happening," I shook my head and my eyes stayed glued to all the skin I could see through the mesh. The mesh was taut to his stomach which wasn't toned but was chubby, his pants were tight but not tight enough to make him look like he was spilling over. Why couldn't I stop staring, I'd look away for a second and then look again?
"I understand Cassie we'll figure it all out and he's a strong kid," Gabriel was talking to Cas. His body was leaned casually against the wall, his head turned completely to the side to expose his neck. His cup of coffee in one hand while the other was planted on a small table with a potion on it, something of Rowena's possibly. His skin looked soft, his hair hadn't been done yet because it was still messy and beautiful. There was a slight rosiness to his cheeks, his face crinkled when he smiled.
"Sam," Castiel knocked me from my daze.
"Yeah?" I asked and Castiel walked over to me.
"I have found some more information," Castiel said and I nodded, "I know we were not going to send Jack. But I think if we taught him a bit more with his powers, he could put up a good fight against Micheal. He's been more articulate with his desire to get Dean back, hurts me more and more each day."
"His training has come really far," I shrugged, "maybe we talk to him a little about the responsibility."
"I do think he'd be ready to take on anything really," Gabriel said, "I remember when I was strong like that. Curious and adventurous, but he has passion and motive. He's stronger than you guys really think." I looked at Gabriel and paused to watch his sad eyes looking at the floor, his head still turned to Castiel. He looked back over to me and his lower lip was between his teeth, I felt myself twitch and I adjusted where I was standing.
"Maybe you can help him further than we can," I said over excitedly and he kept his lip tucked in his teeth.
"Sounds fun," Gabriel smiled wide.
"I'm gonna get dressed and I'll be back down if your game for helping the kid," I said and Gabriel nodded before I walked out. I went to my room after stopping by the main kitchen to clean my cup, I went to my room and shed my clothes. I folded them and set them on the end of my bed to wear tomorrow night, I looked into my closet and just wore the usual. Jeans, an undershirt, and a buttonup that I decided to leave unbuttoned. I headed down to the kitchen where Gabriel and Jack were talking.
"You guys wanna go down to Jack's room?" I motioned and Gabriel nodded with a small smile, I still couldn't believe what he was wearing. I fucking loved it.
"Yeah we were just talking," Jack smiled in his usual way. We followed Jack who was almost skipping in excitement, I hesitantly wrapped my fingers around Gabriel's wrist gently. He didn't say anything about it as we attempted to keep up with the excited nephlim, both of us laughing slightly. We went into his room that lacked a bed but instead had a small dresser with ca dy wrappers littering it and a giant stuffed bear in the other corner.
"So show us what you got," Gabriel smiled and motioned around the room with his free hand. I didn't let go of his wrist and he didn't seem to mind me holding it. Jack's eyes glowed for a second before his teddy bear was ripped into shreds, torn beyond repair. Then he rotated his wrist and the bear was back in perfect condition, he raised it up to the ceiling slowly before smacking it hard against the ground. It made a loud thud and Gabriel chuckled, the bear back in its place. He swiped away his candy wrappers quickly, he turned to me and his smile widened suspiciously. He snapped and I was on the other side of the room, I yelped in surprise and Gabriel laughed. His whole body went into it and as much as I enjoyed it, why was he laughing so hard?
"What?" I laughed and he pointed to me, I looked down and I had neon green short shorts on. I felt cold air hit my ass cheeks and I coveted myself, blushing brightly.
"Jack!" I yelled and Jack jumped a little but also laughed, he snapped the shorts away and I sighed.
"Nice shirt," Gabriel sputtered and I looked down.
"Gabe's Daddy Dick," I read and crossed my arms, "nice. We done with me?"
"Yeah I told him to do it," Gabriel snickered and Jack snapped everything back to normal.
"He can do just about anything," Gabriel shrugged, "he's ready for anything."
"I healed Mary today," Jack said proudly, "and was able to do one of those powerful blasts to burn a whole area of werewolves. Sam I think I can do this!"
"Uncle Gabriel really gets your hopes up," I smield at Gabriel before turning back to Jack, "when we find him we'll let you fight. We need a way to summon him first."
"Thank you," Jack said and hugged me. I smiled and closed my eyes, hugging him back.
"You're doing so good you've had so much progress," I praised and he let me go, "keep it up."
"I will," Jack said and snapped candy into his hand.
"Just like me," Gabriel chuckled as we walked out of the room. When Gabriel shut the door he turned to me suddenly with a whole new expression, sad or something that didn't look good.
"That was one of the sweetest things I've ever seen," Gabriel whispered, "you need to be a dad, dude." I laughed a little and he clasped his hands together.
"I'm serious," he said, "that was so tender on my heart." I just laughed and looked down, unsure what to say.
"Thanks," I mumbled and he huffed a laugh.
"You know you're a fucking amazing guy Sam," Gabriel said, "a father figure, a good friend, a loyal person, and you can do it all while looking... like a Winchester." I smiled nervously at the ground, biting my lip and being unable to accept the compliments.
"Let's go to the library," I said to break the tension and he nodded.
...
"I have something to tell you," Gabriel said from the chair across from me. He had his bare feet propped up on the table casually, he a had a book in hand that he set on his knees page down.
"Shoot," I said and set my book on the table.
"Would you believe me if I said I was your guardian angel?" Gabriel asked and crossed his arms, I opened my mouth to answer but stopped myself.
"It'd make sense," I shrugged, "always trying to teach me a lesson and always... coming back to us."
"Well," Gabriel smiled at the ground, "Sully. Remember him, your imaginary friend? I actually made him for you because you were so alone, I didn't like it."
"That's," I scoffed and laughed, "I believe it."
"Would you mind if I vent to you for a moment?" Gabriel asked and I squinted at him in confusion, but nodded anyway.
"You are my guardian angel after all," I smirked and he rolled his eyes.
"I cave into your pleading so damn easy and I didn't notice it until I killed Asmodeous," he was looking at the table as if he were talking to it and not me, "because I couldn't look at you when I made to decision to leave. I had to look away and I saw your face change from confused to begging, so I had to leave soon as I could. I know I'll cave every single time, you say please and guilt always washes over me. I keep thinking about it, I'd do so much for you for the sole reason that I can't say no when you say please. Its always been that way, Mystery Spot you said please and I... couldn't say no."
"Does that have something to do with you being my guardian angel?" I whispered and he met my eyes from across the table.
"I asked around and apparently I'm supposed to have the most willpower against what you say," Gabriel chuckled darkly, "it should be easy for me to say 'no this is the way' but it isn't."
"Then why?" I swallowed, the air suddenly seemed thick.
"I told you that I couldn't sleep around like I could before," Gabriel whispered and took his feet off the table. Our eye contact still held.
"I think it's because of you," Gabriel finished, "I don't want to draw quick conclusions but I-"
"You what Gabriel?" I whispered back and he smiled.
"I love you," he looked away when he finished saying it, "it's ridiculous but I tried. I slept with a few women and I couldn't even keep my eyes open, I slept with a few men and it was fine but I couldn't enjoy it like before. It was just sex and I couldn't figure it out, when I did I didn't really like the answer."
"Which was?" I swallowed, I had to be dreaming at this point. Or it was a prank, something.
"Sam I can't ever get you off my mind," Gabriel still talked to the table, "I was able to for a lot of your life because you were good at being by yourself most of the time. It didn't bother me but then, everything changed. It didn't happen until after I died the second time, it slowly built up but that's when it happened. I couldn't really go into detail much more but it feels so much more complicated."
"I don't know what to say," I smiled wide and looked at my feet.
"You don't have to say anything I'm just talking," Gabriel mumbled, "it doesn't have to change anything."
"Gabriel look at me for a second," I said and looked up. He moved so out eyes could lock and I licked my lips, smiling a little bit.
"Kiss me," I ordered and softened my eyes, "please."
"You're an ass for that one," Gabriel laughed.
"Please," I did it again and felt my lip quiver upward as I held my laughter, "crawl across this fucking table and kiss me."
"Are you sure?" Gabriel laughed and I nodded.
"Do it," I tried to hold back my laughter which also lead to me being even more nervous.
"You asked for it," he said and slid his obnoxious shoes back on. He climbed onto the table on all fours and I started to actually sputter some laughter, he got close enough and it was actually me who closed the distance between us. He was surprised because he made small yelp which made me chuckle slightly, my hand made its way to his neck while his stayed flat against the table to keep him held upright. When we finally pulled away neither of us had much breath left, we both panted slightly.
"You look like a stripper," I smiled and he huffed a laugh before looking down.
"Am I a pretty stripper?" He asked and I chuckled before motioning him to sit up, he sat criss cross on the table and I put my hands on his thighs.
"Prettiest I've ever seen," I laughed and rolled his eyes. I stood up from my chair and moved toward him, pressing our lips together again. It was all soft and smooth, my hands moved to his knees and his hands went to my hair. We pulled apart, again without much breath left.
"I've always wanted to touch your hair," Gabriel gasped and continued to run his fingers through my hair.
"I've always wanted to do stuff with you but not quite like that,"I raised an eyebrow and Gabriel barked a laugh.
"Take a girl out first," Gabriel pushed me away jokingly with his finger on my forehead.
"Boyfriend?" I asked and he buzzed his lips and looked away.
"I don't know," he joked, "I'll sleep on it. In your bed."
"Sounds fun," I giggled and pressed a quick kiss to his lips.
"Seriously though," I pouted and he smirked.
"Yeah Sam," Gabriel laughed.
"I am still conflicted about these shoes," I said and slid one from his foot to inspect it.
"They kind of hurt but it's worth it to wear them every once in awhile," Gabriel said and I shooky head.
"Blue doesn't match your outfit," I said and he gasped in faux offense.
"I only have one pair and they're custom fit," he yanked the shoe from me and I laughed.
"I think we should look busy huh?" Gabriel asked and I waggled my eyebrows, he rolled his eyes and stood up to walk back to his seat.
...
"Give it up kid you'll never have more power than me while I'm in this vessel," Micheal motioned to himself.
"Jack you can do this," Gabriel encouraged and clapped a hand on his shoulder, "just be careful."
"I will," Jack nodded. The fight was decided to the two of them fighting against eachother, surprisingly formal. Just those two and I was under so much anxiety for Jack, but he was strong and I had faith in him.
"Well what do we have here?" A voice came from behind me, a voice I recognized. I turned around and saw him, Lucifer.
"What are you wearing?" Lucifer motioned to Gabriel, today was the 'I Can Get Dick Anytime I Want' shirt along with a holographic circle skirt that did have black compression shorts under it for fighting. He had one of my green plaids tied around my waist that he was wearing as a jacket.
"Clothes," Gabriel shrugged and Licifer laughed some more.
"You're shirt is also pretty great," Lucifer was sputtering laughter, "no dick is coming for that just saying."
"I do agree my colors don't match," Gabriel shrugged and looked down at his simple black combat boots.
"What do you want?" I growled at him in my own fear, instantly drawing his attention.
"To watch Jack get ripped to shreds by Micheal," Lucifer deadpanned, "and apparently see my brother make weird fashion choices."
"I still get more ass than you," Gabriel pointed to Lucifer with a blade in his hand.
"That's moral," Lucifer rolled his eyes.
"I have a boyfriend," Gabriel scoffed and our eyes locked. He motioned me to go behind him, he was obviously suspicious of Lucifer. I walked to stand behind him, just in case. Lucifer was so close it did freak me out.
"Well I had a girlfriend," Lucifer tapped his temple.
"That went well," Gabriel said.
"Sam's are worse," Lucifer softened his eyes, "all those women you poor abomination."
"You better watch your mouth," Gabriel suddenly became serious.
"Or what you'll smite me Mr. No Grace?" Lucifer mocked and bent down to meet Gabriel eye to eye, "I would be the one to smite you."
"Who says I don't have grace," Gabriel mumbled.
"I watched you die," Lucifer said, "twice actually."
"But we have Jack who just so happens to have half your power," Gabriel crossed his arms, "which means he could easily have donated some grace for me to regenerate myself."
"Your saying," Lucifer tilted his head.
"Yeah," Gabriel smirked and there was loud windy sound. Then there were long golden wings conjured from Gabriel, they were passing through his clothes easily without tearing them.
"And you're actually a little weak big brother," Gabriel took a step toward him, "is Micheal using it? Are you over working yourself, I thought this apocalypse was going to be good to us?"
"Shut up," Lucifer growled and Gabriel stepped back, "I'm not afraid to kill the last standing Winchester."
"Ah that's where you're also wrong," Gabriel pointed and turned to the side before turning back to Lucifer.
"I believe that Mary is still here," Gabriel smirked, "and has happily accepted ME as a Winchester. Imagine that?"
"You're an idiot," Lucifer shook his head.
"Am I?" Gabriel laughed, "because between Sam and I teaching him, Jack will be able to defeat Micheal."
"Stop Gabriel please," I called and Gabriel whipped around, "anger makes him stronger."
"Yeah maybe you should listen to him," Lucifer said, "we can sit and watch together peacefully."
"We can pretend he isn't here," I said and Gabriel swallowed.
"Alright," Gabriel said and one of his wings wrapped around me. I smiled at him and he smiled back, Lucifer scoffed and looked away. We sat down on the ground and Gabriel leaned on my shoulder, he pulled his archangel blade out and set it across his lap.
"Just in case," he whispered and I laughed, "listen it's gonna be alright. Jack is more than able to do this, he's been preparing and remember the last case?"
"Yeah he totally fucking wasted that witch," I laughed, "and we got him ice cream per the request of princess Gabriel."
"He likes chocolate as do I," Gabriel crossed his arms, "and I wasn't upset with your pistachio option."
"You ate it off my face I promise I could tell," I said and he giggled, "you're gonna traumatize that poor boy."
"You think he's heard us doing it before?" Gabriel whispered to me making me laugh.
"I think he'd ask around," I cackled with little breath.
"What if he went to Castiel or Mary," Gabriel gasped, " and that's why they urged us to move into that room further away from them? Sam that makes so much sense now."
"Sam,"Jack panted and we turned to him, "Gabe. Dean's... alive." Jack was holding Dean bridal style, my mouth fell open and I rushed to Jack's side.
"There's no way!" Lucifer charged over to the three of us and Gabriel snapped into action. He stepped in front of us, his wings hiding us behind him. Jack lowered Dean into my arms and moved to Gabriel's side.
"Picture perfect family moment but you forget," Lucifer teased, "the three of us our family and the two weak idiots are family."
"Family isn't about your blood but who actually has your back," Gabriel said, "the ones who stab your back may be your brother but never your family."
"Gabriel you remember when we were young an-"
"Stop!" Gabriel screamed and everything sat silent, I listened to Dean's breathing just in case.
"Jack send him to the Cage," Gabriel said quietly, "before I kill him." I saw Gabriel trembling and shaking, Jack pressed his chin to his chest and Lucifer was gone, assumingly in the Cage. There was silence, Jack was given the hard decision of throwing his father away and Gabriel was on the brink of killing his brother. Dean was alive in my arms but unconscious, we stood and listened to the air blowing.
"Take us home Jack," I whispered and we were back in the bunker. I walked Dean to the couch near us, everyone gathering around him still silent.
"Someone get Castiel," I whispered and pressed my fingers to Dean's forehead. I grazed my thumb over his eyebrow and cupped the side of his face in my hand, I saw a tear fall onto his face and only then did I realize I was crying.
"Dean," I whispered and pulled my hand away. I sat on the floor beside the couch and laid my head on his shoulder, my eyes closing. I'd forgotten people were in the room or that anything existed at all, it was all Dean. There was a hand on my shoulder I decided to ignore, Dean's face didn't look any different it was just him. Really him.
"Dean?" Castiel's voice made me jump, he fell beside me and wrapped his fingers around Dean's.
"Baby no," Castiel whispered and looked around at everyone, "when will he get up?"
"We don't know," Gabriel answered, "I can try something but I don't know if I can wake him."
"Please," I said and Gabriel pressed his fingers to Dean's forehead. After a few moments Dean stirred slightly, his eyes slowly peered open and Castiel's grin spread wider than mine.
"Cas? Sammy! Jack!" He grumbled and Castiel let go of Dean's hand, Dean scrubbed his eyes.
"Is he gone?" Dean whispered and lokked at us, we nodded and he smiled.
"Gabriel?" He questioned and I nodded, "the hell are you wearing?"
"Nice to see you too buddy," Gabriel smiled and I laughed a little.
"Sam," Dean breathed out and he sat up. He pulled me down into a hug and I sighed happily, blinking my tears away but they just fell onto Dean.
"You can have Cas all to yourself Dean," I laughed as he let me go. I stepped back and Gabriel wrapped an arm around my waist, I laid against him while crying and he rubbed my side to soothe me. We watched as Dean and Castiel had a light makeout session before hugging, Dean's hand carding through Castiel's hair.
"I'm sorry he told you all that stuff Cas," Dean whispered, "but I love you and I'm here. You're okay, I'm okay, we're all okay."
"How are you?" I whispered to Gabriel and pressed a kiss to his temple, "I know he gets to you."
"Am I-," Gabriel sniffed, "Sam am I- Am I really family?"
"Receiving blessing from my mother definitely means you are," I said quietly, "I don't expect us to be your only family but when the other side isn't there for you we'll always be the backup." I smiled down at him, his eyes were welling up and I hated it. I turned him so he was in front of me, my arms around his waist and my fingers fiddling with the top of his skirt.
"In fact I could call you Gabriel Winchester in confidence," I whispered and kissed him. He chuckled a little and wrapped his hands around my neck, when we pulled away I left another quick kiss after. I put my forehead against his and smiled, his fingers warm against my skin felt so tender.
"I like that name," Gabriel laughed and started to sway us gently back and forth.
"Get used to it then," I chuckled and nuzzled our noses together.
"Hey woah what's that?" Dean called and I pressed a kiss to Gabriel's forehead.
"The dick he gets is mine," I pointed to his shirt and Gabriel shook his head with a small laugh.
"Right so you're banging a man who wears skirts confidently," Dean laughed as his hands roamed Castiel's clothed back.
"You're just mad you could never pull it off," I disregarded the comment and Gabriel laughed obnoxiously. Mom and Jack joined the room again, all of us sitting together and talking.
