"Oh shit it's sprinkling," I said and Gabriel looked up at me. I held eye contact longer than necessary.
"Yeah," he looked around, "hold on." I stopped and looked at Gabriel who was nonchalantly shedding his shirt, I flushed and cleared my throat.
"What're you doing?" I asked and Gabriel laughed a little, he balled his shirt in his hand and rolled his shoulders. Huge, golden wings unfurled behind him. I gaped at them, the rain started pouring even heavier.
"Sam woo hoo," Gabriel waved, "get under." I blinked and crouched under the wings that were held above us, Gabriel smiled sheepishly.
"They're not weird are they?" Gabriel asked nervously, shrugging awkwardly.
"No they're beautiful Gabe," I said and ran my fingers over the feathers above my head. I stopped looking at them and we started to walk. Gabriel wrapped his wing closer so we had to walk closer together, I didn't say anything nor did I really notice it until I was directly touching Gabriel's side.
"Sorry they get tired," Gabriel said and smiled up at me.
"'S okay," I said polietly and hesitantly hovered my hand over Gabriel's forearm. I considered grabbing the shorter man's hand, just so I could know how it felt. It was killing me to not know, I held my hand there for a long time without touching Gabriel at all. We reached the bunker and I sighed a little, moving my hand and holding the door open for Gabriel. We were met with Dean, his arms were crossed and he looked pissed off.
"What, are we past curfew?" I asked sarcastically, earning a small laugh from Gabriel.
"Yeah actually," Dean said, "it's late you should've been back by now."
"It was raining and we walked since you won't let us use the car," I said and Dean rolled his eyes.
"Why is your shirt in your hand?" Dean asked and motioned to Gabriel's bare top, I wanted to look at it desperately but I kept my eyes to myself.
"It was raining so I pulled my wings out," Gabriel said and Dean raised an eyebrow.
"Okay," he sighed, "put your shirt back on." Gabriel put a hand on his hip, obviously challenging Dean.
"I'm good," Gabriel said and walked away. His hips swayed slightly when he walked, this time I did watch. There were two dimples on his back and he was a little chubby, some lovehandles and some hips. I wished I had snuck a look of his front before he left but it was too late.
"Hey Sam!" Dean flicked my forehead, I bitchfaced him and he rolled his eyes.
"Stop staring at him Christ," Dean said and j paled, "it's killing me to watch you two eye eachother nonstop."
"We what?" I sputtered and he shook his head.
"Go to sleep we're busy tomorrow," Dean said and walked out. I closed my eyes for a second and walked to my room with a surprising amount of tiredness.
...
"Sam come oooon," a voice said from somewhere in my room. I blinked awake, sat up, and looked around to see Gabriel standing at my door.
"What the hell?" I yawned and rubbed my eyes, Gabriel bounced on his feet at the door.
"Sammy pleeease," Gabriel begged and I flipped him off. He giggled and plopped down on my bed, smiling idiotically.
"Hm?" I hummed and he laughed a little, he was still wearing no shirt but he had pajama pants on. They were long fleece pants that were rainbow colored, they were considerably obnoxious. I was wearing a grey v-neck and red plaid pajama pants, a blanket still over my lower half.
"Sam I made special breakfast come on," Gabriel said and grabbed my wrist. He was strong since he was an archangel, even if his grace was pretty low at the moment. He dragged me to my feet and guided me to the kitchen, his hand was small and soft despite his strength pulling me around. We got to the kitchen, it was spotless besides the four plates of waffles on the table. One plate had just syrup, one had different types of berries, one had whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles, and one had bacon and syrup.
"I worked kinda hard," Gabriel clasped his hands together in front of him.
"It's awesome thanks Gabe," I smiled at him and he looked proud, "can I guess who's is who's?"
"Sure," Gabriel smiled.
"Mine is the berries, Dean's is bacon, Cas got syrup, and you have the gay rainbow mess." I motioned to his plate and he laughed, tucking hair behind his ear.
"Yeah good job," Gabriel mumbled and I laughed. I wrapped my arm around him and he leaned against me sleepily, I tried to keep myself from stiffening. His bare skin was pressed against my arm, soft and comfortable.
"Thanks everyone will love it," I said and he nodded before yawning.
"I don't know if it was worth it," Gabriel said, "I'm tired."
"Coffee?" I offered and he laid his cheek against my shoulder, nodding slightly.
"Not right now," Gabriel mumbled and buried his face into my bicep, "sorry I'm really tired."
"You're fine," I said but I meant oh fuck please don't ever move from this spot.
"Alright," Gabriel said and stood up. I followed him to the coffee maker and started it, looking at his pants and chuckling.
"You really had to wear those," I asked and he nodded.
"They're my jammies," Gabriel crossed his arms.
"I'm gonna go tell everyone breakfast is on," I yawned and walked away. I sighed and knocked on everyone's doors, Dean and Cas walked down to the kitchen behind me. I saw that there was coffee at three of the plates me, Dean, and Gabe's.
"I used my grace to rewarm them a bit," Gabriel was staring at the table with his arms crossed.
"Holy shit that looks good," Dean pointed his plate.
"Well it's yours," Gabriel smiled and looked at Dean. Gabriel explained who's was who's and we all ate, Gabriel sat our playes next to each other. I really wanted it to be intentional but it was probably coincidental.
"I couldn't decide whether to give you berries or peanut butter," Gabriel smiled at me.
"Either or," I said before shoving more food into my mouth.
"Thank you Gabriel," Castiel said and Gabriel nodded.
"So," Dean says with an already empty plate, "we found sulfur so it's demons
Don't forget to pack the blade Sam."
"Yes Dean," I said and looked up at him. I flicked my eyes to Gabriel who had also eaten all of his, there was whipped cream on his nose.
"Dude," I laughed and wiped his nose with my thumb.
"Thanks mom," Gabriel rolled his eyes and stood up with his plate. I made sure no one was looking when I licked the cream off my finger, something about it felt so sexual. I shivered after I did it, yeah it was weird and creepy but fuck it felt good.
...
The hunt was going pretty normal, we had killed a handful of demons and we were sucessful so far.
"Me and Cas will go this way you two go that way," Dean said, "just make sure everything's cleared out."
"Gotcha," Gabriel said and we walked through the building gingerly.
"You seeing anything?" Gabriel asked and I shook my head.
"No," I said and looked around, "dead end watch out." I said and pointed to the wall, Gabriel huffed and sat down with his back against the wall.
"So let the other two go do their thing while we relax," Gabriel said and motioned me over. I sat down next to him, my legs bent in front of me and my body relaxed against the concrete wall.
"How's your grace doing?" I asked and he shrugged.
"It's doing," Gabriel huffed and I chuckled, " um it's still low but it's not gone. I'll be half way there in a few days I'm sure."
"How are you doing?" I asked and stared in front of me, not daring to lock eyes with him. I get distracted when I do.
"I'm hanging in there," he answered quietly and vaguely.
"You can talk to me," I said quietly and looked over at his leg for a second, "if you want to." His legs were crossed and I rested a hand on his knee, rubbing my thumb along his knee cap.
"I'll be okay," Gabriel smiled a little and I looked up at him. His eyes were glassy and his smile was forced, he dropped back to a frown and sighed. He looked at my hand and held it, he wrapped his fingers around mine and his hands were small. He used his other hand to wipe his eyes and he sniffed, trying to hold his composure he took a deep breath.
"I'm here Gabriel," I said quietly and squeezed his hand reassuringly, "I will always be here."
"Save your breath," Gabriel mumbled, "no one has to pretend they care."
"I'm not pretending," I whispered, "I care about you."
"I'll keep that in mind," Gabriel grunted.
"Don't think that we don't," I whispered and lifted his head up so he'd look at me, "Cas cares about you, Dean cares about you, and I care about you." Gabriel stared into my eyes, he looked sad. My fingers were still under his chin, just begging me to pull him toward me. His lips parted slightly and he swallowed, I assumed to keep from sobbing.
"We're going to make sure everyone is okay," I whispered and realized we were very close, "I am going to be especially sure you are okay."
"Sam," Gabriel breathed out and a tear rolled down his cheek.
"Gabriel," I answered and we both moved forward little by little. Our faces were an inch away from eachother, my heart raced in anticipation.
"SAM, GABE! EVERYTHING CLEAR?!" Dean's voice echoed throughout the building, Gabriel chuckled and tightened his grip on my hand. I exhaled and got on my feet, I held Gabriel's hand and helped him up too. We rushed back out to the entrance and saw Castiel and Dean, Dean raised an eyebrow in suspicion and I raised mine in confusion.
"What?" I asked and Dean waggled his eyebrows suggestively, I widened my eyes and Gabriel let go of my hand. Oh shit, right.
"Uhh," I blushed and moved away from Gabriel, "nothing happened I promise."
"Yeah we scoped the area then we sat and talked for a bit," Gabriel said and took a step away from me, "that was it."
"Sure it was," Dean said and smirked.
"Could you stop Dean please?" I whined and Dean rolled his eyes.
"I'm joking you can unknot your tighty whities," Dean laughed and everyone started walking toward the door. I opened my mouth to argue but instead I walked out of the door, behind everyone else.
...
We were in the car and the air felt tense, maybe I crossed a boundary or something. Maybe I scared Gabriel off. I couldn't live with that honestly.
"So the world's been pretty empty when it comes to cases," I said.
"Yeah I couldn't find much either I think we'll have a day off," Dean said.
"That sounds nice I liked our last day off," Castiel said and Dean choked a little on nothing. I raised an eyebrow and he cleared his throat.
"I did too," Dean said.
"What did you guys do?" I asked smugly, "because you two stayed out all night. I was told about a bar and then you got too drunk, stayed at a motel."
"You were told correct information," Castiel snapped.
"Okay," I said and looked at Gabriel next to me. He was asleep, semi curled up and mouth hung open. His hair was a mess and one of his arms were behind his head, the other was at his side.
"So what did you and Gabriel 'talk' about?" Dean asked and I bitchfaced him.
"I told him that we all cared about him," I answered matter of factly, "he isn't doing so hot."
"I know you think the opposite," Dean joked.
"What?" I asked and he laughed.
"You said he isn't doing so hot but I know you think he's hot," Dean said and I was suddenly flustered.
"Dean just relax with that please," I sighed, "I'm sure he's already suspicious."
"How would he not be? You both stare at eachother constantly," Dean said annoyedly, "it's good that he is suspicious because then maybe one of you will jsut make a fucking move. Instead of just staring at each other and flirting nonstop."
"Oh," I said speechless. I hadn't noticed it, maybe he was just messing with me. The rest of the ride was pretty silent, I began to drift to sleep and I felt a small hand wrap around mine. I smiled and let myself fall asleep, absently rubbing my fingers against the smaller ones.
...
"Come on sleeping beauty," Gabriel grumbled and I groaned.
"Why are you always waking me up?" I protested and he laughed.
"Inside," Gabriel said and I huffed, "don't think I won't carry you."
"You wouldn't," I joked and he raised an eyebrow. He put one hand under my legs and the other around my neck, he lifted me effortlessly and I giggled.
"No I didn't think you'd actually do it," I whined and wrapped my arms around his torso.
"I'm not gonna drop you," Gabriel laughed.
"I don't know that," I said and tightened my grip. I laid my head on his chest and looked down at the ground as he carried me inside.
"Sam don't fall asleep on me," Gabriel said and I groaned and rolled my face into his chest.
"You're cuddly," I giggled tiredly.
"You're loopy," Gabriel said, "I'm just gonna take you to your bed."
"Mmm," I whined, "did you hear Dean and me in the Impala."
"Yeah," Gabriel answered and kept his eyes attentively forward.
"'S why you grabbed my hand?" I slurred and Gabriel huffed.
"Mhm," he hummed and I pressed my lips to his neck.
"I'm sorry if you don't like me," I mumbled into his neck, "I like you a lot."
"I do like you a lot too Sam," Gabriel said and I hummed in disagreement.
"You don't have to lie I'll be okay," I said and felt myself drifting to sleep.
"Just go to sleep Sam," Gabriel sighed and laid me on the bed.
"I'm sorry I tried to kiss you," I said and he stopped frozen, "it wasn't right."
"Sam you're just as good as your brother when it comes to reading emotions," Gabriel laughed and shook his head. I looked at him, my eyes felt heavy.
"Sleep," Gabriel said and walked out of the room. I fell asleep as soon as he shut my door.
...
I woke up and looked around, I slowly remembered last night.
"Oh shit," I said and rubbed my head. I thought about how I can't seem to keep my mouth shut while I got dressed, I walked back t the kitchen and Gabriel was already at the table with coffee.
"Sleep okay?" Gabriel asked without lifting his eyes from the table.
"Yeah," I said and poured myself a cup. Gabriel was wearing his pajamas, I smiled at the bright rainbow pants and lack of shirt.
"You were pretty loopy last night," Gabriel chuckled.
"I remember it all don't worry," I joked, "and the hunt."
"And the hunt," Gabriel repeated, "is there a reason you 'like me a lot'?" Gabriel air quoted and I laughed.
"Um you're pretty?" I joked and he smiled, tucking some tangled hair behind his ear.
"I was ready to kiss you," Gabriel said and looked down at the table, "I thought it was just a... in the moment thing I didn't know you actually -liked me like that."
"I do," I said and leaned my back against the wall. I looked inside my cup, swirling it around. I heard faint footsteps but ignored it, assuming it was nothing until there was a hand cupping my jaw. I looked up and Gabriel had my face lifted up, I smiled sleepily and he came forward and met my lips. I stiffened for a second before setting my cup behind me while our lips are connected, then I wrapped my arm around his waist and the other around his neck. Fuck I wasn't letting go, he wasn't allowed to move from my lips. I slotted my leg between his legs and he moaned a little bit, he moved his hand from my jaw to my neck and his other hand grasped my bicep. He pulled away and I whined, he huffed a laugh and looked down bashfully.
"Hey," I said and he lifted his head bed back up. I smiled and put my fingers under his chin, bringing him up for a quick kiss.
"Now if you'll excuse me I need coffee," I smiled and grabbed my cup from behind me. I drank it and he took a step back away from me, he waggled his eyebrows as I licked the coffee from my lips.
"What?" I asked and he was blushing, it was fucking adorable.
"You're pretty," Gabriel smirked and I laughed, "and a good kisser can't believe I had to wait that long." He stepped back over to me and put his arm around my waist, laying his head on my shoulder.
"I agree," I mumbled and kissed the top of his head.
"I told you one of 'em would grow balls and do it!" Dean shouted from the doorway.
