(Sorta Sad Sabriel Shit)
Gabriel sat and tapped his fingers absentmindedly, it's about all he ever did. He was stuck in heaven and his brother's bothered him, besides that nothing else happened. Except Gabriel cried a lot, no one saw or said anything so no one really knew. Gabriel and Sam had been together and they made each other so happy, no one in the world knew about them. When Gabriel 'died' and he couldn't get back, he heard Sam pray or cry out for Gabriel. The way Sam's voice changed each day made Gabriel upset, he missed Sam, and Sam obviously missed him.
"Heya Gabe," Lucifer sauntered into the room. Gabriel didn't say anything, he continued to tap his fingers and sighed.
"Come on Gabriel, you used to smile and laugh. You played pranks and joked with us, now you've been mopey for the month you've been here." Lucifer complained and stood next to Gabriel, Gabriel rolled his eyes  and ignored him.
"I'm your older brother don't ignore me," Lucifer snapped. Gabriel didn't say anything and Lucifer leaned against him.
"I don't want to be here," Gabriel mumbled and crossed his arms.
"Why? What was there with the living mortals that you lost?" Lucifer rolled his eyes and smirked sarcastically. Thoughts of Sam filled Gabriel's mind and clenched his heart.
"The sunset is beautiful," Sam smiled. The two of them were sitting in the cool sand, the sun was setting and the sky was beautiful. The perfect blend of yellow, red, and orange on the horizon made both of their hearts relax. Sam laid on his side, his head in Gabriel's lap as he ran his fingers through the larger man's long dark hair.
"I know," Gabriel sighed as an ocean breeze blew by. The smell of salt water and the sound of crashing waves filled the air.
"Thank you for making me so happy, thank you for making sure I am always having fun." Sam said and moved towards Gabriel's gentle hand.
"Thank you for making me happy and making me feel human everyday. I still don't understand human emotions but you're soul is nothing less than perfect. You're just so caring, so forgiving, so generous, so trusting, it's just... Amazing." Gabriel shrugged and Sam chuckled lightly.
"I love you Gabriel," Sam whsipered and Gabriel leaned down to Sam's lips.
"I love you Sam," Gabriel ghosted Sam's lips with each word before he kissed him. Gabriel cupped Sam's face and Sam smiled as they kissed lovingly. They pulled apart before they pressed their foreheads together and laughed innocently.
"I'll always love you," Sam whispered.
"I'll never abandon you Sam," Gabriel whispered back.
"Gabriel," Lucifer jolted Gabriel from his memory. The smell of Sam's jacket and the sound of his voice hung heavy in the air around Gabriel.
"Can you please leave me alone?" Gabriel asked quietly, sniffing as tears threatened to come from his eyes.
"You're an archangel you'll get over whatever it is," Lucifer scoffed and walked away. Gabriel waited until the coast was clear before crying, he did it quietly before he heard Sam's voice. Gabriel heard Sam scream in anger, Gabriel wiped his eyes and worried. Gabriel willed himself to go and inspect the situation, knowing he could only watch and listen but not touch or interact.
"Sam I don't know what the problem is, you can't be moping and angry all the time." Dean said, a shattered beer bottle was behind him. Sam was sitting on one of the hotel beds with his head in his hands, he was shaking.
"I don't think he is dead Dean, I want to find him!" Sam argued and Dean sighed, he rubbed his temples.
"Again with this shit? It's been a month and what else can we fucking do?" Dean said with annoyance in his tone, Sam opened his mouth to say something. No words came out for a few seconds as he thought of what to say.
"What if we send Cas to heaven, what if he is up there?" Sam whispered, his voice trailing off as he thought around the idea.
"If he was in heaven he could easily come back here," Dean argued and Sam shook his head.
"Not always. There is a chance that we could at least know he is alive if anything." Sam stood up quickly, the thought of finding Gabriel exciting him.
"And? Will there be some satisfaction to knowing if he is alive, why do you care so much?" Dean questioned and Sam rubbed the back of his neck.
"I just... Do." Sam muttered and Gabriel felt his stomach twist and turn. Castiel could see him, it'd be hard but there was a chance that he could escape with Castiel.
"Fine. We'll call Cas, I'll talk to him." Dean finally gave in to Sam's requests, Sam smiled a little without realizing it.
"Thanks Dean."
Dean scoffed and rolled into the opposite bed.
"Night Sammy," Dean grunted and flicked off the light.
"Night Dean," Sam smiled as he slept. Gabriel felt his heart clench as the hotel room faded from his vision and heaven came back.
Next Day
Gabriel heard a flutter of wings behind him, he didn't care to look behind him since it was always a brother out to annoy him.
"Brother?" Castiel's gruff voice made Gabriel jump, that was the last voice he expected.
"Brother!" Gabriel stood up and hugged Castiel excitedly.
"Missed you kiddo," Gabriel sighed and pulled away from Castiel.
"Sam said that if I could reach you, you might be able to come back. But I don't understand why he's acting that way, you probably don't wanna go back and Dean never really liked you." Castiel tilted his head to the side and squinted his eyes slightly. Classic. Gabriel smiled and nodded, feeling his soul be raised at the thought of coming back to Sam.
"I wanna go back Castiel, will you help me?" Gabriel asked and Castiel pondered the idea before finally agreeing to help Gabriel.
"Thank you so much this means so much to me," Gabriel exclaimed.
"Why?" Castiel asked honestly, he didn't understand what was so good about being with humans. He thought heaven wasn't the best place, but it was better than being with mortals.
"I-I fell in love with a human," Gabriel whispered and rubbed the back of his neck, "and I really wanna s-see him again." Castiel blinked at Gabriel and scanned over him with his eyes.
"Who Gabe?" Castiel asked quietly, Gabriel hesitated to speak anymore.
"C-Castiel I-I don't want to-" Gabriel stuttered and bit his lip.
"It's okay, I understand Gabriel. I'll get you back so you can see whoever it is you want to see." Castiel smiled at Gabriel who looked as if he could cry.
"Thank you so much Cas," Gabriel hugged Castiel again.
"Okay let's just see if I can do it," Castiel said and grabbed Gabriel's hand. There was a flash of light and Gabriel felt Castiel using a lot of his grace, Gabriel worried and thought about stopping Castiel. But he waited and underestimated Castiel's power, they were suddenly back in a hotel room. Dean was sitting on one of the beds with his eyes on Castiel, then he looked over at Gabriel. He pulled a gun out quickly and pointed it at Gabriel.
"Who, where, and why?" Dean said with Gabriel at gunpoint, Gabriel rolled his eyes.
"It's me you prick," Gabriel sighed and pushed the gun from his face.
"Castiel was able to get you here?" Dean asked and Gabriel nodded.
"It only took a week," Dean smiled at Castiel sarcastically. They heard the doorknob shake and all looked over at it.
"Hey Dean, I got all the-" Sam stopped when he saw Gabriel in the room. He didn't move, he didn't speak. Gabriel smiled his usual crooked smile at Sam, Sam set the bag he was carrying on the ground.
"Cas did it- Work?" Sam stuttered and Castiel nodded with a slight smile. Sam looked at Gabriel again and walked up to him slowly, he brought Gabriel into a very tight hug.
"Hey how are you Gigantor?" Gabriel laughed and Sam tucked Gabriel safely into his chest.
"Wonderful," Sam sighed happily and put his face in Gabriel's hair. Dean and Castiel looked at each other with confused expressions.
"So Sam... We've met now what the hell is going on?" Dean laughed a little and Sam raised a middle finger to Dean silently. Dean rolled his eyes and grabbed the bag Sam brought home.
"I thought you were dead," Sam whispered.
"I know," Gabriel whispered back, "I promised I'd never abandon you. I always made sure you were okay, I watched over you most days." Sam ran his hand up and down Gabriel's back comfortingly, he felt tears well up in his eyes.
"Thank you," Sam whsipered.
"What's with the queer party? Come on it was only a month!" Dean laughed and Sam shot him a bitchface.
"A month where I thought I'd never see him again," Sam replied harshly.
"Whatever I didn't even know you liked the guy," Dean defended.
"Gabriel you said you had to get to someone," Castiel said from where he was silently standing.
"I'm with them brother," Gabriel said. Castiel blinked and stood silent again, understanding what was now happening. Sam and Gabriel finally pulled away from each other, they both had smiles on their faces.
"Gabriel, can I talk to Sam?" Dean asked and stood up, Gabriel nodded. Gabriel raised an eyebrow at Sam before zapping out, Sam watched the space where Gabriel had been standing.
"Sam were you and Gabriel... Close?" Dean asked suspiciously, Sam still was radiating happiness.
"What do you mean?" Sam questioned and Dean rolled his eyes.
"He's GABRIEL and you've been acting like he was your soulmate that died," Dean said. Sam scoffed and rolled his eyes, he still held a smile.
"And you won't stop fucking smiling," Dean chuckled, "Sammy." Sam blushed and pushed some hair out of his face.
"Sam wait... Are you-" Dean started and Sam turned even brighter red.
"Hey we're back don't be bein' private now." Gabriel called as he walked back into the hotel room, his smell wafted throuhh the air and Sam snapped towards Gabriel.
"Welcome back," Sam smiled at Gabriel.
"Dean, Gabriel and Sam need to go somewhere alone. Gabriel told me to tell you." Castiel's deep voice made Dean jump a little.
"Alright," Dean sighed and raised an eyebrow at Sam, "just have Sam back by tomorrow." Gabriel nodded excitedly and grabbed Sam's hand, Sam smiled and looked down at the excited archangel.
"Let's go Samich let's gooooo," Gabriel whined and Sam laughed. Sam waved Deann goodbye before he disappeared. Gabriel zapped him and Sam away, they were back at the bunker in Dean's room.
"Why are we here?" Sam asked Gabriel who let go of Sam's hand.
"I just want to go through the memories with you," Gabriel sighed and ran his fingers over Dean's bedspread.
"Whatever one is your favorite I wanna go back to it and stay there," Gabriel finished and looked over at Sam.
"The only thing I remember us doing in Dean's room, maybe wasn't the most romantic Gabriel." Sam laughed and raised an eyebrow at the shorter man, Sam thought about how adorable he looked.
"Well... Discovering your sexuality can be fun, just wanted to remind you." Gabriel smirked and Sam rolled his eyes.
"It wasn't discovering, it was finally acting on my feelings which is different." Sam scoffed and let the memories flow happily through his mind.
"Okay fine, you expirienced butt sex for the first time ever on this bed. Is that a better way to continue?" Gabriel laughed sarcastically.
"Next place Gabe," Sam mumbled and Gabriel grabbed his hand as he laughed. Gabriel took them to the outside of a restaurant, Sam looked around as snow fell around them. Sam wasn't cold though, Gabriel must've been warming him with some sort of grace.
"I told you here," Sam stared off into the parking lot. The snow was falling rather heavily and building up high around them.
"And I'm going to tell you again," Sam said and looked over at Gabriel. Gabriel held Sam's hand and was smiling, taking in the scenery around him.
"Go ahead," Gabriel turned to face Sam. His blonde hair swishing around his face and his smile was relaxed.
"Gabriel, you make me wanna love again." Sam whispered into the air and Gabriel felt his chest tighten as the memory came back to him.
"It wasn't your fault Sam, sometimes people just-" Gabriel started to say.
"Die," they said the last word at the same time and looked over at each other. They had smiles, but also now there were tears.
"Sam I'll never abandon you," Gabriel said quietly, "I'm sorry that I did."
"You didn't, you were still there watching over me. You always said you'd never abandon me and you haven't. People say I love you but you say 'I'll never abandon you' and I think it's perfect." Sam cupped Gabriel's cheek and looked him in the eyes, he leaned in and kissed him softly but passionately. Longingly. Gabriel put his hand around Sam's neck and deepened their kiss. Gabriel finally pulled away, making them both whine in disappointment.
"Fuck I missed that," Gabriel sighed and Sam breathed a small laugh.
"So did I," Sam's breathing was heavy. They both laughed and the air around them continued to fog, the taste of each other lingered on their lips.
"Let's go somewhere where we can be a little more alone," Gabriel whispered with a smirk. He wrapped an arm around Gabriel's waist and snapped his fingers, Sam's jaw dropped at the sight. Gabriel let go of Sam and they stood an inch apart.
"The beach," he mouthed without sound.
"The last good memory we had, I thought about it a lot." Gabriel swallowed and looked over at Sam, the ocean breeze blew their hair behind them.
"The same sunset," Sam whispered as he was lost for words, "you said it here too." Gabriel stuck a hand in his jacket pocket and fidgeted with the small box nervously, Sam looked away from the setting horizon colors and smiled at Gabriel.
"I think that this is my favorite memory, it was the last meaningful one. Well meaningful in a good way." Sam laughed at his awkwardness and Gabriel took a deep, shaky breath. The salty ocean air filled his lungs and when he exhaled he still felt slightly uneasy. Rejection chewed on his ribcage that was felt like it was getting crushed.
"Can I make it more meaningful, can I make it more memorable?" Gabriel asked quietly and shifted awkwardly next to Sam.
"I don't want to fuck you on the beach Gabe," Sam laughed and Gabriel shook his head.
"No Sam," Gabriel laughed and Sam bent down slightly to meet Gabriel's eyes. Gabriel took another deep breath.
"This is our spot, our place, our memory, and I'd like to make more memories with you. We may have the past and all of it's beauty, but I want new things to come too. I wanted to ask if you'd marry me Sam, because I won't abandon you and I won't let you be a memory." Gabriel pulled the box out of his pocket and opened it, holding it out to Sam semi-awkwardly. Sam blinked and swallowed, he took the ring out and put it on his finger. Sam didn't speak but he hugged Gabriel so tight he could've sworn Gabriel winced in pain.
"Of course I'll marry you Gabriel, of course I'll make new memories with you, and I will never abandon you either." Sam cried as he held Gabriel tight, Gabriel steadied his nervous breathing as he no longer feared rejection. When they finally pulled away they kissed again, this time rougher and more happily, but when they finished a thought hit Sam's head like a brick.
"What about Dean?" Sam asked and Gabriel rolled his eyes.
"Well deal with that later, for now let's enjoy the sunset." Gabriel said, another breeze blew around them. Gabriel pulled them to the ground where they sat in the sand, Sam laid his head on Gabriel's shoulder. Gabriel put an arm around Sam's shoulders and they sat there in silence until the sun had completely set. Darkness now.
"Now we've gotta go," Sam whispered. Gabriel just nodded and sighed, he didn't want to go back.
"This was too perfect," Gabriel sighed, "now we have to speak to our brothers."
"Yeah I was thinking the same thing," Sam said and squinted off into the niw dark ocean.
"Let's go I guess," Sam sighed and Gabriel snapped them to the bunker.
"They're here?" Sam asked and looked at Gabriel who nodded a reply. They walked in to see Dean and Castiel on the couch watching TV, Dean had a beer and Castiel was fidgeting with his clothes out of boredom.
"Hey guys," Gabriel said plainly.
"Hey," Dean said, he didn't look away from the TV.
"Dean I have something kind of important to tell you," Sam said and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Sure Sammy what's up?" Dean turned the volume on the TV down before turning to look at Sam.
"Dean I'm... Gay." Sam stuttered, it sounded weird to hear the word come out of his mouth.
"Okay I don't really care, just keep it in your room. You're still you Sammy." Dean chuckled and Sam felt his chest get tighter.
"There's uh- more to that story... Dean." Sam sputtered and Dean raised an eyebrow.
"I uh- got engaged." Sam held his hand up to show the ring, Dean stood up and walked over to look at it.
"Do I even know them? Because if I don't, then what the hell Sam." Dean said and Sam chuckled a little.
"You know them Dean, I just don't know if you like them." Sam replied quietly and Dean smiled.
"If they're good enough for you I'm sure they're good enough for me," Dean smiled and raised an eyebrow.
"Dean it's uh-" Sam started but worry kept growing in his chest, he wanted to run away in that moment.
"It's Gabriel," Sam swallowed. Dean looked at Gabriel who was watching the conversation in silence.
"Sam, really?" Dean asked and Gabriel nodded.
"This is... A lot." Dean said with disbelief, Sam started to sweat as he grew more and more afraid.
"So you're getting married and you're gay?" Dean clarified semi sarcastically and Sam nodded, Dean just looked at Sam's ring harmlessly.
"Okay, you've got my... What is it? Blessing? Yeah Gabriel he's all yours." Dean said happily and Gabriel's eyes widened, he walked up to Dean and hugged him tight. Dean reluctantly hugged him back.
"Thanks Dean-o," Gabriel said and Dean quickly pulled away.
"Sure," Dean laughed and looked at Sam. Sam held his arms up and Dean hugged Sam tight.
"Thank you Dean," Sam said quietly.
"Sure thing Sammy," Dean smiled. They let go of each other and Dean was left completely confused, lost, uncertain and surprised. He wasn't sure how he felt with all the sudden news he had just gotten. Dean shook his head and decided to ignore his thoughts, he looked over at Sam to see him next to Gabriel. He was laughing and smiling for the first time in a month and a half, Dean realized this and felt pity for Sam. They loved eachother.
