I WOKE UP THE next day with an intense headache. I had to massage my temple and take a deep breath before I could even have enough strength to pull myself so I could sit up. The room was slightly dark, but I could tell that it was already morning thanks to the light peeking through the curtains.

I looked around the room and realized where I was. We were at a motel after what happened last night. But what even happened last night? If I remember...

"You like men, right? Then it will be fine. I haven't had gay sex yet, but I've been sexually deprived since my divorce so you'll have to do. Thankfully you have a pretty face," I suddenly remember Timothy saying, and my entire body starts fuming.

Last night I was completely drunk and defenseless, but now that I'm fully rested, my fear was instantly consumed by anger.

"That mother fucker. How dare he assault me like that?!" I angrily say, looking around to find my phone so I could call my lawyer. "I'm gonna put that guy's sorry ass in jail. He's gonna pay for what he's done. If he thinks I'm just going to cry and hide in fear then he's dead wrong. My name is fucking—"

"Day?" Someone suddenly calls out while I was talking to myself, still searching for my phone so I could search for my lawyer's name in my contacts.

     "Day, how are you feeling?"

Hunter, who came from the bathroom, walks out wearing only a towel, instantly making me stop whatever I was doing.

"You look better," he says with a small smile, walking towards the window to open the curtains. Light instantly shines through, and I immediately squinted my eyes to adjust to the lights.

When I finally got used to it, I opened my eyes back and realized that there was actually food in the small dining area on the side of the room. Hunter walks towards the table and takes a mug before handing it over to me. "Here, drink this. It will help you feel better," he tells me.

I looked at what was in the mug and realized that it was tea, so I cupped the mug in my hands and took a sip. It took me a couple more sips, but my head slowly started to feel a lot better after a while.

While I was finishing the tea, Hunter stares at me and sat on the edge of the bed. He then reaches out to brush my hair back for me, making me smile at him.

"You feeling better now?" He asks.

     "Yes."

     "That's good."

Hunter stares at me for one last time before standing back up to remove the towel that's covering him. He wasn't facing me so I could only see his back area, but even so, I looked away and just finished the tea so I could distract myself.

When Hunter was now wearing his clothes from last night, he walks towards the table of food and sat down. "Come here and let's eat," he says, and so I nodded my head and stood from the bed so I could join him.

I sat across from him and placed the empty mug on the side before looking at the table. When I saw what was on top of it, I realized that most of the food served was food to help someone's hangover. I was touched that he woke up early just to buy me all these, but then I saw a small box on the side. I opened it up and was surprised to see that it was actually a slice of cheesecake.

"Cheesecake...t-that's my favorite," I say, trying not to get emotional over a piece of pastry.

"I just saw some at the coffee shop. I'm glad you actually like it," Hunter says, and I looked at him and smiled, making Hunter smile back at me too.
