"WHO WAS THAT WOMAN?" I once asked Hunter when we happened to stumble upon an older woman who obviously knew who he was at the bus stop. Hunter tried to ignore me, but I grabbed his arm and forced him to look my way.

"I don't know," he answered me.

"But he called your name, Hunter. I don't think I've ever heard anyone call you by that name before. And for a while, people have known you as Noah."

"Don't think about it too much Day. It's nothing," Hunter continues to tell me. "I know you're still tired after what happened so do you want something to eat? I can cook something for you."

Over and over again I've tried to ask Hunter about that woman and that man who looked like he knew him from top to bottom, but Hunter has continuously ignored my questions, dodging them like it was some kind of sport. Of course, I've tried to keep quiet. I trusted Hunter, he would never hide something that could potentially hurt me, right?

"Day!" Someone suddenly calls out, making me flinch. I then blinked and realized that the stoplight has now turned green, so I stepped on the gas and continued driving. It was already raining hard, and Todd, who was sitting in the passenger seat, wouldn't stop looking at me as if he was dying to know what happened earlier.

"Day, that Noah guy isn't really an employee in your company, isn't he? After all, he wouldn't kiss you if he was just that," Todd finally asks. I stared at the road in front of me and tried to ignore Todd's question, but Todd wouldn't let it go as he continued, "I know I'm not the right person to be asking you this, but shouldn't you be—"

"I told you, I'm fine, so stop asking unnecessary questions so I could drop you off," I told him as I made a right turn.

Todd stares at me and takes a deep breath before massaging his temple. "Fine? Day, you haven't even asked me where I live, so where on earth are you going to drop me? You've been driving around your street for ten minutes now."

As soon as I heard him say that, I immediately stopped the car in realization.

"Fuck," I cursed under my breath as I parked the car on the side so I could finally stop driving. How did I not even realize that?

"Day, tell me honestly. Who was that guy? You told me his name is Noah, and then you start calling him Hunter. What on earth is even going on?" Todd asks, and I take a deep breath and pressed my forehead against the steering wheel, closing my eyes so I could get a grip.

"I'm not in the mood to be interrogated by an ex-boyfriend," I honestly tell him, making Todd sigh.

"Look, I'm just concerned okay? It might not look like it to you, but I still—"

"Don't finish that sentence," I quickly say, lifting my head up to look back at him. "I don't want to hear it. I'm already confused and frustrated as it is. I don't need you to add up to it."

Todd was surprised by what I said, and for a moment, he looked hurt. "That's not fair now, is it?" He tells me, and this time, it was my turn to look away from him.

"Day, I'm concerned about you, and I genuinely still care about you more than anyone. You told me before that we can talk again, right? Then let's talk. Let me tell you what I feel," Todd says, practically begging.

"We can't," I answer, and Todd laughs like he heard the funniest joke of his life.

"We can't? Why, is it because of that Hunter guy? You can't even tell me who he is!" Todd exclaims, making me clench my fist in frustration.
