ABOUT THE STORY:
Sit, Stay, Roll Over is by far my greatest achievement yet. I never really thought that people would read it, but well, here you are now. Some of these questions are actually from other readers so I posted the answers here.
What inspired you to write this?
⌲ Well here's a story. I was talking to my sister when suddenly our dog comes to me. I just randomly asked her these exact questions: "What would happen if Itchico (the name of our dog) suddenly becomes human?"
Then BOOM! Sit, Stay, Roll Over was born.
How did you think of the crazy plot?
⌲ The plot making was actually very easy since I like reading dystopian and mystery books. The story was originally just going to be a casual one, but I really can't write stories that are pure romance, I always like giving them plots that will keep the readers from actually reading it till the end. If you actually just make a timeline of your whole story and jumble it up and chop it into bits, it will look pretty cool when everything is finally puzzled back together.
Characters?
Damien Nicholas Collins
⌲ For Damien in the story, I wanted to make him seem obedient since he's a pet but when they're in bed, he's the master lol
I didn't really want to give Hunter/Damien a complicated past. The story was only going to revolve around a pet-owner kind of relationship that will gradually develop into a complicated type of relationship, but like what I told my sister, I have this obsession with over-doing my character's story.
Dane Andrew McCartney
⌲ Day wasn't really a hard character to type since I based him on a typical workaholic person who's very practical. He usually makes choices that won't complicate things, but of course, we all know that changes too.
His original character was supposed to be younger, and I even considered him being a student, but again, that changes as well.
As for why I chose Lucky Blue Smith...Well, I just really liked him and his hair, so I chose him, simple as that.
Todd Cooper
⌲ I had to go through a lot of thinking just for this character. I originally had a lot of plans for him, like he was supposed to be significant until the last chapters but his relationship with Day going back and forth actually tired me so I decided to cut him short and just end it there.
I also wanted to just slightly show you guys a glimpse of what a relationship looks like when the other partner acts like both of you are in a competition. And honestly, I don't want to sound mean, but the only reason why I decided to add a Todd Cooper as a stepping stone for Damien. If Todd wasn't there, Day would automatically fall in love with Damien the moment he sees him, and that would just be...bad. So I just used Todd as a beginning complication...
Sorry, Todd.
But I do love him. While I was rewriting him, I ended up enjoying his presence in the book.
Have you ever considered a different ending?
⌲ YES, but I NEVER considered killing any of them. Maybe I considered it a little but I never really pushed it through. Actually, the closes ending that could have made it was that Day gets to keep the Association, but he gives it to Damien instead. That was one of the original endings, but I thought it would be terrible for Day to keep the Association that practically killed his uncle.
