In this chapter we will have a kind of standoff between the old and the new.  Hope you like it.

Ben after dropping Sarah off at Betty's after taking Karen to the airport, went to his office where he found Zoey already at her desk working on a few of the final year accounts that had be in by the December 30.  When she looked up she saw her boss looking very sexy in her opinion in a sharp black suit with white shirt that really brought out the power he possessed from running a large corporation.  Zoey wasn't lying when she told Adrian she found Ben attractive and sexy.  She once had a thing for him in grade school, but he had braces, and was geeky, but he was still cute in a way.  She could easily tell he was a good person, but girls were girls and they were more like boys than they wanted to admit.  Like boys they let looks control what they wanted.  What she wanted when she was younger was a hot looking boyfriend. 

 She got that with Mac, but Mac was like her and he wanted hotter too, which was Adrian.  She later got Ricky, but deep down she didn't really want Ricky.  He was hot and a good lay, but both Mac, and Ricky proved they were completely boring after sex.  Neither did anything interesting to keep her entertained.  But Ben, somehow he got himself into compromising situations all the time. First with the band bitch Amy Jeurgens, and later with the MAJOR SLUT-ERETTE Adrian Lee.  She wondered how in the hell could anybody be so unlucky, but at the same time Ben was also more exciting.  She felt really bad for him when his child died, and her death was the only thing that made her feel sympathy for Adrian, and back off her in school.  When she found out what Adrian did later she did nothing.  Sure she could have hounded Adrian, humiliated her, and really hurt her feelings, but out of respect for Ben, and his late child she said nothing.  Because she knew Adrian and Amy were all gold diggers taking advantage of a nice guy who was totally clueless about life.  

But that was Ben Boykevich, the man that stood in front of her now was Benjamen Helen, and he was the exact opposite of his former self.  This Ben was more sure of himself, and wiser.  He saw Amy, Adrian, Ricky, Henry, Alice, and his father as they really were USER'S and GOLD DIGGERS.  He had lived a much harder life than he used to have, being homeless, a gambler, and from what he told her a forest ranger, volunteer fire man, and a new age rancher.  Being a widower, and single father to that beautiful little girl she met yesterday, made her even more wet when she saw him.  She wondered if she could have what Amy, and Adrian so foolishly gave up, and make Ben hers.  He was better looking, charismatic, single, and now even richer.  She wasn't looking for money, but the fact he was the only heir of a billion dollar business, and the temporary C.E.O. was nothing to ignore.  But most importantly he was still a nice guy.  He had given her this job free, and clear, and even though she messed up by letting her rivalry with Adrian get the better of her, he still gave her a second chance.  

Last night she really had fun with him, seeing him up on stage, and singing opened up a whole new side to him that she just was enthralled by.  It was more fun than she had, had with anyone in a very long time.  She even downloaded his book, and learning what he went through growing up without telling anybody was so sad.  At the same time she knew it would be difficult because she didn't know if Ben was really over Amy and Adrian, and it was obvious they both still wanted him.  No doubt to her both were bored in their marriages, and wanted Ben to make things exciting again.  She laughed at how both Adrian and Amy were so stupid to think they were all that, when they weren't shit but a pregnant school bitch, and a slut.  Ricky and Omar were hot, but still boring ass holes.  Honestly the only thing about either that made them interesting was Ben.  But then again she also remembered his late wife, and from what she knew and figured he was definitely not over her.  But she was gone, and let's face it she was still here, and she did learn from the kiss they had at the party he was attracted to her.  Besides that she deserved to be happy, and find love too, and so did he.  She believed she could make Ben happy, and be a good mother to Sarah.  She would definitely be better than Amy, and Adrian.  So it was her turn, and she wouldn't be dumb enough to let him go.  The only problem, how to make him hers.
