Like foot prints in the sand,
Time slipped away from my hands.
I thought these feelings were here to last,
I only just realized it's a thing of the past.
I wish I hadn't taken them for granted,
I wish complains I wouldn't have mounted.
Now that I look back I wonder,
What if my mind hadn't been so asunder?
Had I been able to keep life on an even keel,
The pain wouldn't have made me kneel.
Now that I repent each day,
I wish the joy is here to stay.
Never again will I turn my back on glee,
For the fear it may once again flee.
