Macrae had never seen the cloak this close before. It was strange. The closest thing she had ever seen were the few seal skins she had seen in the market when she was younger. And yet, it seemed almost woven, like a real piece of clothing.
For a moment, Macrae just stared at it. The last three years of forcing herself not to think about it made it nearly impossible for Macrae to actually grab the cloak. There sounded footprints in the forest behind her. In a movement faster than a breath, Macrae snatched the cloak, and dashed toward home.
