"I don't know about you, but I need a drink," Macrae announced. Elspeth stepped aside and gestured to the ocean. Macrae screwed up her nose. "No, thank you. I have better water at home."
"Home," Elspeth whispered, considering. Macrae deflated immediately.
"Do you have to back tonight?" she forced herself to ask. Elspeth glared at the water. She would not go back until it near killed her to stay.
"No, it is still warm," she explained. And she was, even without her cloak, the world was warm around her. Macrae tucked her basket more firmly under her arm (it was already half empty).
"Alright," she offered. "Then how about you come to my home?"
