"It's a good harvest, Macrae," the baker assured as he paid for a share of fresh tomatoes. "You should be proud." he paused. "Although, I do miss you at the bakery."
"Maybe once harvest season ends, I'll come back," she suggested. The baker laughed.
"Why? You certainly won't need the work."
"I may need the company," she said quietly to the baker's back as he walked back toward the village. Macrae turned back to her garden, just enough for one person to take care of, and set to finish harvesting the rest of her vegetables.
