TRIGGER WARNING

In a dream she kissed me
In a nightmare she whispered
"You're too corrupted"

Her fingers flinched
When my hands touched her skin
I was tainted, black like coal
She didn't want me
Like I needed her

She was my golden star
I was a creep standing at her door
I loved her, I told her that
But my past was cold like ice
From cracked glass

I was her friend
She didn't want my black
hands that saw
Demons flying around my bed
At night, whispering words of sin

She was pure, her heart beat
Was like a fairy's wings
Unique and special with every color
I loved her, she knew Everytime
I brushed the hair from her eyes

I wanted to kiss her like
I did in my dreams
Her lightly flushed face, as she
smiled at me
But my nightmare showed me her angry eyes, hatred burning
My black stained soul

I wanted to be what she needed
I wanted to be the pure she seeked
Yet I was a tainted villain
from comic books, they never win the girl

I would give her the world
Kiss away her evil thoughts
That plague her at 3am,
Protect her in my arms, love her
With ever inch of my banished
Soul

I watched her lips curl in disgust
As she moved away from me
I was her friend, she didn't want me
She traced my skin and said
"You're just too broken for me"

I laughed and said it was okay
While I laid in bed and cried
Wishing I could just die.
I love you

She laughed in my nightmares
She smiled in my dreams
She whispered cruelty into my nightmares
She gave light to my dreams

But I would never be
The person's she dreamed
for, I as to tainted
to hold her forever
By my side
