Oh love, it is you that I long for
A thousand days and nights gone by
That I endure for a thousand more
Simply for a mere chance
For us to not part
When the tides flow by.
Oh love, would you see it,
The things I put myself in
Only to hold onto
The pieces binding us together?
For I have forgone my usual needs
Like sleep and food and contact
To stand by the tower every night
To beam a signal that my heart beats true
That only you can receive.
For I may be selfish
As to forget society and the world around me
And admittedly apathetic
To whatever role that was handed to me
Only so I can be proper
With my unquestioned devotion
That I can be yours and yours alone.
Spending time with you
Day after day
And to merge my soul with yours
Night after night,
If this is not what desire means,
What is?
Damn, it's Monday and I'm still missing that special someone. Sometimes I recognise how inchoate I am but I hope the purpose and reasoning is enough to overlook the faulty delivery. I hope that someone would know it as well.
