Chapter 8

It was 7 o clock in the morning and I couldnt lay there anymore. James wasnt up so I wrote him a note:

James,

I couldnt sleep at all. I must go see him. Text me when you see this note.

I got in my black Jeep Wrangler and drove to the hospital. Then Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi came on the radio. I wanted to cry but I held it back. I finally arrived at the hospital. I walked in to see Grayson, Cameron, Lisa and Sean all sleeping. I just went and sat by Grayson. Then he woke up.

Hey. You can go see him if you want, Grayson told me groggily.

Okay, thanks Gray, I thanked him and got up to go see Ethan.

I walked into Ethans room, he was laying there just like he was yesterday. Hooked up to multiple machines and some how the black eye had gotten worst. I pulled a chair in the corner of the room up next to his bed. I grabbed his hand and just held it tightly. I apologized over and over and over. Thats when I felt his thumb move over my hand. I looked up at him quickly with my tear-stained cheeks to see him gradually opening his eyes.

Grayson! Cameron! Lisa! Sean! I yelled.

Ethan opened his eyes and smiled at me. I smiled back with tears running down my face uncontrollably.

Taylor, Ethan said softly.

Eth- He cut me off.

I heard what you said yesterday, I really did. He told me.

Really? I questioned him.

He just nodded his head and thats when his parents and siblings along with a nurse and doctor came in.

Oh my gosh, ETHAN!!! Lisa shouted.

Shhh, its okay Mom, Ethan comforted her.

After all the excitement I texted Audrey and James to tell them Ethan was awake. Soon enough they came into the hospital. Both eager to see them. Even though E woke up the nurse told us he still must stay in the hospital for at least another week.

Dont worry Ethan, I will come every day, I told him reassuringly.

Before I knew it, he was smiling with tears running down his face.

We will talk later Taylor, he told me. How about you go home and get some rest you look so beyond exhausted.

Go Taylor, Grayson said.

Come on I will go with you, Audrey said leading me out the door.

I waved goodbye to everyone and headed to my Jeep. As soon as I got in and shut the door I turned to look at Audrey and just cried. I think they were tears of joy this time. She just rubbed my arm and told me it was going to be okay. That Ethan and I can start over. The thought of this made me so happy and gave me butterflies in my stomach. I put my Jeep in drive and went home to get some much-needed rest.
