Chapter 32

[Fighting For Custody]

~~~~ Monday Trial 1 ~~~~
"Your honor, I have new evidence."
"Proceed" the judge said.
"I have new evidence which supports that Berkley Anderson is my son."
"What" I heard little whispers start going.
"Your son?" He questioned.
Than my mother stood up.
"Your honor, she's just trying to get you on her side."
"You see I thought you would say that mother. I have his birth certificate right here, and on the line where it says mother it says AJ Nicole Anderson."
"Please bring that up to me." The judge said.
"Seems to be right. We will have to rethink our trial now that we have new evidence supporting that Berkley Dylan Anderson is AJ Nicole Anderson's son."
"But your honor-"
"We will proceed with this next week."
"Thank you your honor." I say.
After the trial my mom tries to talk to me.
"Hannah, why are you doing this, he's my son."
"No, he's mine."
I walk out the door to see Dylan holding Berkley.
I run over and kiss them both.
"How was it?"
"They're rethinking the trial." I said with a smile.
All of a sudden my mom walks out.
"Oh Berkley." She cries out.
"No mom. Stay away from him."
"He's my son."
"No he's not!" I yell.
We quickly walk away.
"Hannah!! You won't get away with this!!"
She yells.
"I will because you're an unfit parent," I turn around "and he deserves better."
I get into the car to see her start crying.
We drive away.
~~~~ Next Thursday Trial 2 ~~~~

"Court in now in session." The judge says.

"Your honor Hannah, I mean AJ is not old enough to be taking care of my son."

"Ms. Harding, Berkley is her son." The judge corrected her.

"No he's my son!" she yells.

"Order! Ms. Harding no need to yell."

"Your honor," I say. "I've been taking care of Berkeley pretty much all by myself for the past 5 years. My dad helps out as much as he can, but he works to help us get through the month. She hasn't been around his whole life. She made that decision all on her own."

"Your honor! I'm object!"

"To what?" He says.

She looks at him.

"Proceed AJ."

"Thank you your honor. As I was saying, my 'mom' hasn't been around for a very long time, and we're doing just fine without her."

"I am your mother AJ."

"Not anymore." I say.

"We are going to look at the case carefully. Monday June 4th we will give you the final results. As of right now. Helen Harding you do not have the right at seeing Berkley Dylan Anderson."

"Your honor-"

"That's final."

"June 4th at 2:00," he said "this court date is over."

We all go back to out lives as normal until June 4th I guess.

1 month away exactly.

I'm keeping Berkley, he deserves not to be forgotten.
