I as well as you
Know the simple truth
We shall perish someday
For there certainly is no Fountain of Youth.
So while I am here
This I have got to proffer
Can't we just stop now
This cradle to grave offer?
Our time here is limited
So can we already forgive
Ill will against none
Are we actually ready to live?
No place for malevolence
It won't ever give you relief
And neither for animadversion
This is my strong belief.
Dreaming about heaven
We have been so far only hopeful
Never having tried to create it here
Is what makes me so sad and woeful.
Rising to the voices of humanity
Can we today take an oath
That together we shall now and forever
Endeavour to live for us both.
Do we all agree today
To spread our illumined wings wide,
And not leave a corner in this world
Where fear or hate can hide.
Can we not come to terms
With our little differences
Learn to forget the minor nuances
And gain richly from other's experiences.
And then finally we shall all pass
Dust to dust and ashes to ashes,
Ready to emerge again like phoenix
By just lighting the matches.
