Competition

Ever since the dawn of man
Yes, even before we began to live in a clan
There has been this undesirable urge
How much ever hard we try, we can't purge.

This desire to own the world
To see everywhere our flags unfurled
Which gave birth to the concept- Competition
Constantly ensuring a mutual demolition.

So drunk we are in this greed for power
Always wasting time to build Watch Towers
I hope someday we come back to our senses
And join hands together to break these fences.

Competition isn't something for which to die
It is good only till the time it takes us all high
Once it crosses the limits, decent and legit
It is the time, you know, you need to exit!

Sometimes it is better to not get into such battles which will lead to collateral damage. Yet, time and again- despite knowing this fact too well, we still fail to prevent the damage, because we actually don't even know that we are fighting a battle.

I, somehow, felt that this would be an appropriate theme for my 50th poem.
Hope you all like it.

Have a Good Day!
