Tryst with the Flame

Let me get this straight
You were that blazing Fire
Burning brightly to captivate
Flames only reaching higher and higher.

I was the tempestuous Wind
Then blowing a little gently
Who knew we would be twined
A combination so deadly.

Those days and those nights
Spent constantly encircling the ardent flame
A new order we began to write
Wind and Fire all just the same.

Now, I'm not at all complaining
But your fuel had to eventually end
There was no chance of us sustaining
For even I had many sails to bend.

Slowly the Fire began to die out
Left the Wind hoping for a miracle
Experience said that there was no bailout
And yet Every Thing was curable.

Till yesterday the Wind blew softly
Over the remnants of the blaze
Everyday keeping embers alive
In sunshine and in haze.

But then the play changed
I realised there was to be no fairy tale ending
And my wind stopped with its fanning
With a scant hope- a Phoenix rising.

Today I let go the embers
As well as the Flame
Live provides new beginnings to everyone
