In a strange land, some thousand miles away
Lay a powerful kingdom, or so they say
Where life was peaceful, ebullient and gay
A magical place-daily kissed by Sun's first ray.A wizard somehow envied this, unable to see
The land which banished him thrive in bliss
He reached the palace, public well vis-à-vis
Bowed down, cursed it with his venom-kiss.The curse not of death, but of madness in air
The now crazy subjects made the king despair
Somehow the royal well missed the glare
Of the wizard, who was to be found nowhere. As the situation in the kingdom grew tense
And with increasing attacks on his fence
The King became worried about the defence
Makin' plans to instil in his people some senseThis just increased the mad people's hate
Who reached his gates, askin' him to abdicate
In those moments when the king was distrait
The queen came up with an idea, oh so great."The problem is but the public well water
If only we drink it, it will solve the matter
Differences in intellect is the defining factor
If all 're on same plane we'll end this chapter"The King became radiant and gave a wink
Ordered the holy waters, drank it in a blink
Though he lost his acute powers to think
But he managed to rebuild his people-link.Losing allies who dismissed his acts as lame
And being subjected to sighs and equal shame
The King remained calm, enjoying the game
And ruled happily till his time to go came!***
