Alien Race or Earth's Grace

In the never ending realm of space
We can’t be alone
I am talking about an alien species-
Not any drone.

Will they have two brains or
Four hearts – or maybe less?
Will they visit us soon
Or will they cause some tempest?

When we send things in space
Like satellites and rockets
Is someone gathering them up and
Putting them away in their obscure closet?

Are our research probes
Just trophies for beings in space?
Should we be happy or should we be ready
For the impact that we might face?

Somedays I look up at the dark sky
And I can't help but wonder
Are other beings controlling us?
Or is it just some piddly blunder?

Such thoughts I get
For an alien on his planet far away,
When our pale blue dot is dying
Getting hotter and hotter everyday.

So I will stop thinking about
Some myriad race away in space,
I and you have a task to do
We better get started and save this place!
