New Lights

It's not as if He didn't care
Neither was He busy with any other affair
But from where He sat and watched
He was not able to see- how truly it was botched.

Though He cared with a fervour
The far away prayers were just a murmur
Nonetheless, passionate that He was
He felt inclined to check the cause.

When He came down on Earth
He was shocked to see a paradise in dirt
The brilliant blue turning into brown
Lined with filthy cities and a town.

Verdant green that his garden flaunted
Now all black, like a place- twice haunted
He decided to take a stroll through the city
Stunned He was, on seeing the cruelty.

From every block, He heard only shrieks
Innocent children- gunned down by freaks
Horrified He was- observing people fighting in his name
Instantly He realised that he had to set right this game.

I can only hope and solemnly pray
That we live long enough to see the day
When we are guided by His holy light
Or even better, when we fight our own Fight
Ourselves we make every wrong- right
And gift the coming generations a new World- fresh and bright!
