We went back to her flat and turned the TV on. Rose sat on the couch and the Doctor sat in a chair, pulling me into his lap.

"Hi." He greeted, wrapping an arm around my waist.

"Hi." I grabbed the remote, turning the TV on.

"Big Ben destroyed as a UFO crash-lands in central London. Police reinforcements are drafted in from across the country to control the widespread panic, looting and civil disturbance. A state of national emergency has been declared. Tom Hutchinson is at the scene."

"The police urge to public not to panic. Here's the helpline number on the screen right now, if you're worried about friends or family."

~~~
"The military are on the look out for more space ships. Until then, all flights in North American airspace have been grounded."
~~~

 "The army are sending divers into the wreck of the spaceship. No one knows what they're going to find."

~~~
"The President will address the nation live from the White house, But the Secretary General has asked that people watch the skies."
It was at this point that Jackie and her friend started blabbering on to Rose.
"I've got no choice-"
"-Worrying your mother sick-"
"Either I make them welcome-"
"-She's sobbing in my arms-"
"-or I run the risk of never seeing you again-"
"-I cradled her like a child!"
"Oi, I'm trying to listen!" The Doctor called over his shoulder.
"News is just coming in. And we can go to Tom at the Embankment."
"They've found a body.  It's unconfirmed, but I'm being told that a body has been found in the wreckage, a body of non-terrestrial origins. It's been brought ashore." I looked up to discover that three more people had appeared out of thin air. I got off of the Doctor's lap, sitting on the arm of his chair and he scooted closer to the TV.
"Oh, guess who asked me out? Billy Croot."
"Unconfirmed reports say the body is of extra-terrestrial origin. An extraordinary event happening here in central London. the body is being transferred to a secure UNIT mortuary. The whereabouts are yet unknown." The channels started changing rapidly, and I looked over to see the Doctor wrestling the remote away from a child.
"Where did he come from?!" I asked. The Doctor changed the channel back to the news.
"We still don't know whether it's alive or dead. Whitehall is denying everything. But the body has been brought here. Albion Hospital. With the roads closed off, it's the closest to the river. I'm being told that's General Asquith now entering the hospital. The building has been evacuated, the patients are moved out onto the streets. The police still wont' confirm the presence of an alien body contained inside those walls."
"Mystery still surrounds the whereabouts of the Prime Minister. He's not been seen since the emergency began. The opposition are criticizing his lack of leadership...hold on. Oh, that's Joseph Green, MP for Hartley Dale. He's chair of the parliamentary commission on the monitoring of sugar standards in exported confectionery. With respect, hardly the most important person right now."
"Doctor...what say we go have a look?" I whispered in his ear.
"Sounds good to me." We got up, sneaking out the door. We started walking away when Rose's voice stopped us.
"And where do you two think you're going?"
"Nowhere," The Doctor replied. "it's just a bit human in there for us. History just happened, and they're talking about where they can buy dodgy top-up cards for half price. We're off on a wander, that's all."
"Right. There's a spaceship on the Thames, and you're just wandering."
"Nothing to do with us. It was a genuine crash landing. Angle of descent, color of smoke, everything. It was perfect. "
"So?"
"So maybe this was it. First contact. The day mankind officially comes into contact with an alien race. I'm not interfering, 'cause you gotta handle this on your own. That's when the human race finally grows up. Just this morning you were tiny and small and made of clay."
"That seems inaccurate." I stated.
"Now you can expand!"
"We were actually headed off to the TARDIS." I lied. "We were going to um...spend some time together...alone."
"Oh, I see." She smiled.
"You don't need us. Go and celebrate history. Spend some time with your mum."
"Promise you won't disappear?" She asked.
"Trust me...we won't be going anywhere." I wrapped my arms around his neck. "But..." I reached into the Doctor's pocket, pulling out a TARDIS key and handing it to her. "TARDIS key. It's about time we gave you one."
"See ya later." He grabbed my hand, pulling me away. "Nice story. Very human."
"Thank you."
"We can still do that, if you like." He said, smiling. I rolled my eyes, smacking his chest with the back of my hand.  We walked into the TARDIS, going straight to the console and taking off. We walked in circles around the TARDIS, hitting the various buttons and switches. The Doctor hit the key pad with the mallet, regulated the flight pattern. I smiled at him, and he pressed his lips to my temple. I bit my lip.
When we opened the door, we were in a storage room, and a rack of boxes was in front of the door.
"Mind the gap." The Doctor told me.
"Or lack thereof." I said, my back pressed against the door once I had closed it behind me. He smiled at the close proximity, pressing a small kiss to my mouth before walking away. "You're being rather mushy today, Doctor."
"What can I say? I'm happy. An alien ship has crash landed in the middle of London, and my best friend finally knows how I truly feel about her." I smiled. he soniced the door and we walked in, revealing about ten chatting red berets. We all looked at each other for a moment before they ran for their guns, aiming them at us.
"Hello boys." I greeted. There was a scream.
"Defense plan Delta! Come on, move! Move!" The Doctor instructed, pulling me through the soldiers in the direction of the scream. We ran down the hallway to the mortuary, finding the coroner on the floor, looking terrified. The Doct crouched down.
"It's alive!" She said.
"Spread out. Tell the perimeter it's a lockdown." I told them.
"oh my gosh, it's still alive." I looked at the coroner, then back at the soldiers.
"Don't just stand there staring at me! Do it!" They ran off to do as I said and I crouched in front of the woman, taking her hands. She had blood dripping down her head. I got up grabbing a first aid kit.
"I swear it was dead." She whispered.
"Coma, shock, hibernation, anything. What does it look like?" The Doctor asked. I crouched down beside her, tending to her wounds. There was a clanking sound. "It's still here." He stood up. "Katherine, stay with her." I nodded, applying a bandage to her head. He waved a soldier inside, who crouched down beside us as the Doctor made his way around the table. He dropped to the floor, starting to crawl. "Hello..." A screech started, and all of a sudden a pig in a space suit ran out from behind the table. The soldier stood up, cocking his gun.
"Don't!" I warned. The Doctor took off after it, and I followed behind him, easily catching up. We heard the gunshot seconds before we turned the corner, and I saw the pig lying on the ground. I ran over to it, dropping to the floor.
"What did you do that for? It was scared!" The Doctor scolded. "it was scared."
I stroked the animals face gently, almost as if to soothe it into death.
