I walked back into the cage to find the man in orange torturing it.
"Stop!" he stopped, turning around. "Please...let me help. It will talk to me, just please stop hurting it." He stopped.
"Fine by me. I'll monitor outside. Don't touch anything." I nodded and he left, closing the door behind him.
"KATHERINE. ASSOCIATE OF THE DOCTOR."
"Yeah...I'm sorry about that. I'm sorry that they've hurt you." I picked up the gloves from the floor that they'd given me earlier and stood up. I walked towards it, extending a hand. It backed away. "I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to survey your injuries, that's all. Can I?" It stopped moving, and I started my examination. "Some of the Dalekanium is badly damaged. They've done a number on you."
"YOU DID NOT DESTROY THE DALEKS?" I stood up, baking away from it. I shook my head.
"No. The Doctor did. But I was there."
"YOU ARE KIND." I shook my head.
"I believe that everyone deserves a second chance." The door opened, and I looked up to see Rose and the English kid. "Hello Rose."
"Katherine...you know what they've done to it-"
"Yes."
"Where's the Doctor?"
"He was removed after he nearly killed it." I explained.
"Why?!"
"We have a long and complicated history with the Daleks. The Doctor was blinded by hatred."
"Hello? Are you in pain? My name's Rose Tyler, Katherine's my friend, she can help."
"YES."
"What?"
"I. AM. IN PAIN. THEY TORTURE ME, BUT STILL THEY FEAR ME. DO YOU FEAR ME?"
"No."
"I AM DYING."
"No, we can help. Katherine-"
"I WELCOME DEATH. BUT I AM GLAD THAT BEFORE I DIE, I MET A HUMAN WHO WAS NOT AFRAID AND A TIME LORD WHO WAS NOT ANGRY."
"Isn't there anything I can do?" Rose asked.
"MY RACE IS DEAD. I SHALL DIE ALONE." Rose reached out.
"No, Rose don't touch-" She jerked her hand back and a red imprint of her hand was left on the Dalek.
"GENETIC MATERIAL EXTRAPOLATED. INITIATE CELLULAR RECONSTRUCTION!" I automatically realized that I had been played by a Dalek. The chains snapped.
"What the heck have you done?!" Orange jumpsuit asked.
"Get out, now! Seal the doors and get everyone off of this floor!" I shouted.
"I can handle this." He walked over to the Dalek, who raised it's plunger.
"What ya gonna do? Sucker me to death?"
"That's exactly what its going to do." I said. It attached to his face and he screamed.
"Get out now!" I shoved Rose and the kid out of the door and shut it behind me. One of the guards ran to the computer.
"Condition Red, Condition red, I repeat this is not a drill!" I looked at the monitor on the wall to see the Doctor running in.
"You've got to keep it in that cell." He said.
