"Right then, Rose Tyler, you tell us, where do you want to go?" The Doctor asked.

"Backwards or forwards in time? THe choice is yours, the world is your oyster, what is it going to be?"

"Forwards." She said. We flipped a couple of switches.

"How far?"

"One hundred years." I turned the wheel, pressing down on it, and the Doctor twisted the lever. The TARDIS stopped.

There you go, step outisde those doors, it's the twenty-second century."

"You're kidding."

"That's a bit boring though." He told her.

"Don't you want to go further than that?" I asked.

"Fine by me." I smiled at the Doctor, spinning the wheel over and over again while the Doctor pumped the pump. We stopped the TARDIS again.

"Ten thousand years in the future.  The year twelve thousand and five to be exact." I said.

"Step outside, the new Roman Empire."

"You lot think you're so impressive."

"We are so impressive!" The Doctor whined.

"You wish!"

'That sounds like a challenge, Doctor. Does that sound like a challenge to you?"

"It did indeed. Well Rose Tyler, Challenge accepted! You asked for it, I know exactly where to go. Hold on!"

"Where are we?" She asked, once we'd stopped for the third time. He made a gesture towards the door. "What's out there?"

"See for yourself." I said, smiling at her. She strolled excitedly over to the door, walking out. I turned, smiling at the Doctor. He smiled back, offering his hand to me. I took it, intertwining our fingers and we stepped out of the TARDIS. He soniced the control panel and we walked down the stairs, standing beside Rose. The shutters on the window lifted, revealing none other but the earth itself.

"You lot," The Doctor started, "you spend all your time thinking about dying. How you're gonna get killed by eggs or beef or global warming or asteroids."

"But you never take the time to imagine the impossible...that you might live. This is the year 5.5/Apple/26."

"Five billion years in your future. And this is is the day...hold on..." He looked down at his watch. A large wave of light covered the earth. "This is the day the sun expands. Welcome to the end of the world." She looked up at him, then back out the window. After a moment, we took off down the hallway.

"Shuttles five and six now docking. Guests are reminded that Platform One  forbids the use of weapons, teleportation, and religion. Earth-death is schedules for 15:39, followed by drinks in the Manchester Suite."

"So when it says 'guests', does that mean people?"

"That depends on your definition of people." I told her.

"I mean people. What do you mean?"

"Aliens." We said together.

"What are they doing on board this Spaceship? What's it all for?"

"It's not really a Spaceship. More like an observation deck." The Doctor said, using his sonic on the control pannel by the door.

"The rich and famous of the universe are gathering to watch the planet burn."

"What for?" She asked.

"Fun." We walked into the grand ballroom, a large window showing the earth and the sun.

"But...hold on, they did this once on Newsround Extra, the sun expanding, that takes hundreds of years."

"Millions." The Doctor corrected.

"However, the planet is now the property of the national Trust.  They've been preserving it. Like right there..." I pointed out the window. "Gravity satellites. Holding back the sun."

"The planet looks the same as ever. I thought the continents shifted and things."

"They did, and the Trust shifted 'em back. That's a classic earth. But, no the money's run out, nature takes over." The Doctor explained.

"How long's it got?" I lifted the Doctor's hand, looking at his watch.

"About half an hour." I replied.

"Then the planet gets roasted."

"Is that why we're here? I mean, is that what you guys do, jump in at the last minute and save the Earth?"

"We're not saving it," He told her, "Time's up."

"But waht about the people?"

"They aren't there. The planet's deserted, and humans have spread across the stars."

"Just me then." Rose said.

"Who the heck are you?" We turned around, seeing a blue man, pressumably the man in charge of platform one.

"Oh, that's nice, thanks." The Doctor said.

"But how did you get in? This is a Maximum Hospitality Zone! The guests have disembarked! They're on their way any second..."

"No, that's me, i'm a guest. Look, I've got an invitation." The Doctor flashed the psychic paper. Look, there you see? It's fine. You see? The Doctor and his wife Katherine, plus one. That'd be my wife, this is Rose Tyler, she's our 'Plus One'. Is that alright?"

"Well obviously." The Doctor smiled. "Apologies, et cetera. If you're on board, we'd better start. Enjoy." He walked away.

"The paper's slightly psychic. It shows them whatever I want them to see. Saves a lot of time."

"Hold on, you two are married?" She asked.

"On, gosh, no. We're not even...together." I replied. "Purely a friendship...right Doctor?"

"Right. Friends."

"He's blue." She pointed out.

"Yeah."

"Ok."

"We have in attendance, The Doctor, His wife Katherine, and Rose Tyler! Thank you, all staff to their positions." He glapped. A bunch of tiny blue people started running around. "Hurry now! Thank you! Quick as we can, come along, come along! And now, might I introduce the next honored guests, representing the Forest of Cheem, we have trees. Namely Jabe, Lute, and Coffa." The doors opened and a tree woman in a pink dress came in, followed by two guard trees. "There will be an exchange of gifts, representing peace. If you could keep the room circulating, thank you. Next, from the solicitors Jolco and Jolco, we have the Moxx of Balhoon." A flabby blue creature rolled in on a pod. "And next, from Financial family Seven, we have the Adherents of the Repeated Meme." I looked up at the Doctor, as he smiled at Rose's reaction. His eyes lit up. I smiled, looking back to the alients. "The inventors of Hyposlip travel systems, the brothers Hop Pyleen! Thank you. Cal "Sparkplug", Mr. and Mrs. Pakoo. The ambassadors from the City State of Binding Light..." THe trees made their way over to us.

"The gift of peace. I bring you a cutting of my gradfather." She handed me a pot with a tiny tree in it.

"Thank you, so much." I said.

"Yes, gifts um..." The Doctor patted down his jacket. "I give you in return, air from my lungs." He blew on her face and she closed her eyes.

"How...intimate."

"There's more where that come from."

"I bet there is." She walked away. I rolled my eyes.

"Do you mind not flirting with the trees?" Rose leaned over him.

"Why does it matter? You're not together, remember?"

"Yeah. We're not together, remember." The Doctor repeated. I glanced at him.

"Fine. Coffa was looking rather strapping in his armor. Maybe I'll just go and say hello." The Doctor stiffened, and I handed him the tree, making the decision to go and mingle.
