The ride was quiet at first. I lived about 20 minutes from the school. It was almost awkward. Like we both didn't know what to say. We talked a little about our chemistry class but that topic wasn't very catchy. After a little more awkward silence Jack said, "so... when I saw you in class today, I thought you looked familiar, but I could not figure out where I knew you from..." I wasn't really sure what to think. I want him to remember me and I want to be with him. I love him. But I also don't want to get hurt more and I cannot have him get hurt. He had paused, like he was waiting for a reaction from me. I were silent so he continued. J-"Then at PE, when I saw you playing baseball, you were so great, and I remembered.. y/n... you're y/n. My best friend from forth grade." Now he was really waiting for my reaction. I were silent. I didn't know how to reply. Y-"Um... I didn't really think you'd remember me.." I say unsure. J-"How could I forget? I'm just surprised I didn't remember sooner." He paused, J-"...I'm sorry about you dad... I'm.. sorry I wasn't there for you." He said sincerely. Y-"Thanks" I say quietly. J-"I still wanna be best friends with you, y/n.. I get that you aren't supposed to talk to me.. but... maybe we could still talk and hang out and stuff.. like in secret so no one knows..?.." I thought about it. If you were careful enough no one would know. You'd have to be really careful though. Y-"ok.. but NO ONE can know." I say looking at him seriously. Y-"We will have to be really careful. " Jack smiled, J-"okay, great. I can be careful. " I smiled We were pulling up to my house. Jack parked in my driveway and came over to my door to help me out. J-"Okay, let's go slowly." He says. J-"I'll come back for your bag." He helped me into my house and brought me over to the couch. Y-"..Jack?" I say. J-"yeah?" I look at him. Y-"Uhm... do you wanna stay?"
