*ELI'S POV*

I crouched next to Anna, still holding her. I wonder if... no. No. I couldn't do that now. Not after what she just went through. I may be an asshole, but even I have some morals. I sighed and softly rubbed Anna's back. "Anna?" She looked up at me and sniffed, managing to choke out a reply.
     "Yeah?"
"It's time for the next class. You should probably get going." Her hands clenched my jacket tighter.
"But my next class... It's with him... With Alex..." I tensed at the mere mention of his name.
     "What's your next class?"
"History..." I smiled slightly. Same class as mine. I could protect her. Except... I hadn't been to a class in weeks... I sighed. There was no way I was risking Anna going through that again.
"We have class together. Do you want me to go with you? To make sure Alex doesn't try anything?" She nodded slightly, so I stood and lightly grabbed her wrist. "Come on. Nobody will bother you if you're with me." Anna whispered two words, so soft that I barely caught them, but I'm glad I did.
     "Thank you."
"No problem. I hate to think of what could have or may happen if I'm not there. " I started walking to History, keeping my hand on Anna's wrist protectively.
When we got to the classroom, she walked in first, me right behind her. Mr. Williams looked up at our arrival. "Ah, Eli. So nice of you to grace us with your presence for the first time this month." I rolled my eyes.
"Don't get your hopes up. I'm only here for her." I nodded at Anna and sat down at the back of the class. She joined me, and I made eye contact with a guy across the room. Alex. I noticed Anna fidgeting nervously at the sight of him. I reached over and gently put my hand over hers. "Hey." She looked up at me, her blue eyes meeting mine. "I'm here. I promise I won't let him hurt you, ok?" She nodded as I removed my hand. One way or another, I had to protect this girl.
