*ANNA'S POV*

I woke up in a hospital bed, wearing a standard gown, with IV drips and a heart monitor hooked up to me. I groaned softly in pain. What... Memories flashed through my mind. Eli driving me home, Alex breaking in, my last moment of consciousness. And I knew what had happened. Eli must've saved me and brought me here, since Alex wouldve just killed me or left me for dead. I needed to find him before Alex did, otherwise he wouldn't live very long. I attempted to prop myself up, but only managed to cause a minor headache and dizziness. I sighed and laid back down, knowing I'd have to wait for a doctor. I didn't have to wait long, however, because a doctor came in about a minute later. He seemed genuinely shocked to see me awake. "Oh! Hello! You're awake, Ms. Anna Murphy. Thank goodness. We were getting worried. You've been out for over a month." I tried to speak, but all that came out was dry croaking. The doctor handed me water and I drank it quickly.
"Eli. Eli Bradbury. Do you know who he is? He admitted me here." The doctor seemed taken aback.
"Mr. Bradbury? Of course I know him. He visits you everyday. Hardly leaves, too. I have to chase him out daily. Well, I had to." I sat there, shocked speechless. Eli visits me daily? Sticking up for me once was enough; he didn't have to save me and visit me. I didn't want to take up and waste his time. I was so touched that I didn't even register what the doctor said until a few minutes later.
"Wait, had to? Past tense?" He nodded. "Why did he stop visiting? Is he ok? Does he not want to see me anymore?" The doctor hesitated.
"Ms. Murphy, he didn't stop visiting. He got admitted here too. He's been unconscious for almost two weeks now."
