*ELI'S POV*
I thought about a plan as I drove to the warehouse. How could I get my mom and Anna out safely? If I had to sacrifice myself, I would. I sighed. But I could only do that as a last resort; my future sibling needed a big brother to guide them in life. I planned to stick around and stop them from making the same mistakes I did. However, if there was no other option, I would gladly give my life for the safe future of my loved ones. Eventually, I had an idea. Anna would most likely be tied up, since she wouldn't be easily controlled, whereas my mom would probably be free. If I could manage to distract my father long enough, then my mom could free Anna and get her out to the car, away from my father. Once I knew they were both safe, I would run to the car and drive back. The only issue was distracting my father. I'd never had a civilized conversation with the guy, so I didn't know what to talk to him about. I'd definitely imagined situations where we were a normal, happy family, and I could talk to him. Sadly, that was nothing more than a wish, so I had no idea what would keep him talking long enough to let my mom and Anna get out. I snapped out of my thoughts upon realizing I was at the warehouse already. I got out of the car and tossed the keys on the seat, just in case I never made it back. I slowly walked up to the door and pressed my ear to it, listening. Silence. That was a bit concerning. For a minute, I panicked, wondering if my father had killed my mom and Anna already. Only one way to find out. I took a deep breath and pushed the door open.
