*ELI'S POV*
I knew Anna wasn't truly going to the store. That look in her eyes was too familiar to the one my mom wore when she told me she knew my father was just protective. I walked out to the garage and opened the door. My motorcycle sat there, untouched. It had been in there since I first took Anna home, in case she needed to get somewhere quickly. I grabbed the keys off the nearby desk, got on and started the motorcycle. I turned it and drove out of the garage, heading to my house. I had a bad feeling that she was going there, to sacrifice herself for my family. But she was part of my family now, and I wouldn't let her get hurt. I accelerated, hoping to get there before or at least at the same time as Anna. I knew my father would most likely be drunk, and he could mistake Anna for my mom and hurt or even kill her. I turned down a side street to take a shortcut. I knew Hellcats couldn't make sharp turns like this easily, so I was praying that it helped me get there in time. After a few minutes, I was driving down my street. I saw a red glint in the distance and it seemed to be near my house. I sped up and soon realized it was my Hellcat parked outside my house. I saw the door open and Anna stepped out. She stood still for a minute, then began heading to the door. I hit the gas, causing my motorcycle to make a loud rumbling noise as it went faster. Anna must have heard the noise, because she turned, her eyes landing on me as I rapidly grew closer. She immediately turned back and began to walk quicker to the house. I hit the brakes and jumped off before the motorcycle had fully stopped. It skidded across the driveway as I bolted up it. Anna reached for the door handle and I wrapped both arms around her waist, pulling her back into me. I held her close, burying my face in her shoulder. "Anna... please don't ever do that again... I thought I was going to lose you..." She didn't respond, except to relax in my grip as I sank to the ground with her in relief.
