*ELI'S POV*
Anna went to her room, which left me standing alone in the bathroom. I sighed. She probably was just using the bathroom and I panicked for no reason. I overreacted. I was still on edge from almost losing her. I turned to leave when something shiny caught my eye on the bathroom floor. I got closer and picked it up. A razor blade. My heart began to pound as I attempted to convince myself that it could've just fallen from a cabinet or something. I flipped it over and my heart sank. There was blood on the razor. Fresh blood, as if it had just been used to cut someone. I clutched it in my hand and headed to Anna's room. I didn't bother knocking. I walked straight in and saw her putting a drawer back into her dresser. She quickly pushed it in fully and turned to face me. "Eli! Hey! What's up?" I moved past her and took out the drawer. I felt around and realized there was a false bottom in it. I removed it and saw bandages, makeup, blades, and peroxide. I faced her.
"Anna... Why?" She broke down and began crying, so I ran over and hugged her. "Sweetheart, please dont cry. If you don't want to talk about it, then I won't force you to, ok?" She nodded, unable to formulate a sentence to speak. I led her to the bed and sat with her on it. I gently took her arm and took hold of the end of her sleeve, but stayed there, seeking permission. "Can I? I want to see how many there are." She nodded. I took a deep breath, pulled up her sleeve, and bit back a gasp. Her arm was completely covered in scars. Old ones, newer ones, and countless fresh ones. I slowly raised her arm to my face and began kissing up it. She looked at me, shocked.
"Eli? What are you doing?" I smiled softly.
"Kissing the beautiful parts of you." She blushed and held still until I'd kissed all up her arm and then kissed her lips. "Ordinarily, I'd kiss all of you, but I'll leave it at this for now." I got up, took the blades from the drawer, and began to leave.
"Wait." I turned back. "Stay. Please. I want to explain."
