*JAMES' POV*

I continued wrapping the rope around Anna's arms and legs, talking quietly so I wouldn't be overheard. "Amelia called Eli, so he'll be here soon. She plans to make him lose his imnocence by making him kill me. I don't want the only memory I have of my son to be the moment he loses his childhood forever. So, once I tie you up, Amelia will have to give me the gun so she would look like the innocent victim in this. I'll play along for a bit, point the gun at you or Amelia until Eli comes in. He'll see what's happening and obviously try to help, which will end in a shot being fired and your death. My plan is that when he comes in, I'm going to keep a firm grip on Amelia, toss the gun away, and explain everything to Eli. The only problem is, I doubt he'll listen, so this plan might be a bust..." I sighed, disheartened, until Anna spoke.

"He'll listen. Trust me. I know him well enough to know that he hears people out. Even if they're someone he believes to be cruel or wicked." I blinked back tears.

"Cruel or wicked? Is that what he thinks of me?" Anna hesitated.

"His mom tricked us. She made us think that about you. And I say us because up until about five minutes ago, I thought the same. But Eli will listen to what you have to say. And when he hears the truth, he'll believe you and you'll get your son back. However, on the off chance that he doesn't believe you, that's what I'm here for. I know the truth; I experienced some of it firsthand when Amelia grabbed me. So, I can and will back you up if everything else fails." I smiled.

"Thank you. I just-" Amelia interrupted me.

"Are you done yet?" I stood and faced her.

"Yes." She handed me the gun.

"Keep that on her. When you hear Eli, point it at me, and wait until he walks in. This will be perfect!" I took the gun, thinking. Yes, it will be perfect, just not for you.
