*ELI'S POV*

It hadn't even been two full seconds before I ran out the door after Anna, hoping to catch her. I turned and saw her running towards the woods. Oh no. I raced in, right on her heels, and quickly realized she most likely knew these woods far better than I did. I wandered around for a while, calling out her name until I heard a voice back. I followed it until I reached a small clearing. In the center was a pool with a waterfall flowing into it. I looked around. "Anna?" A soft laugh reached my ears. I turned towards it and saw Anna in the pool. At the edge of it were her clothes. I blinked in confusion. "Anna? What... what is all this?" She smiled at me.

"When I get overwhelmed, I come here to relax. To be honest, I'm surprised you even found it. Most people wouldn't be able to." I shrugged.

"I'm not to credit for finding this place. After all, you were the one who called out to me." Anna furrowed her brow, seeming confused.

"I never called out to you, Eli." I blinked.

"Then who..." A thought suddenly came into my mind. A horrible, terrifying thought. I handed Anna her clothes.

"We have to go. I think my mom's in danger." Anna got out, then quickly put on her clothes.

"What?! Why? How?" I grabbed her hand and started running. When we emerged from the woods, I raced towards the house and saw the door still open, just the way I'd left it. I entered the house and called out.

"Mom?!" Silence. I ran to her room. "Mom?" Nobody in there, but things were knocked over, almost as if there was a struggle. I checked the whole house, but she was nowhere to be found. Anna ran in.

"Eli! What...-" I ran my hands through my hair, frustrated and scared.

"She's gone! Somebody took my mom."
