~sadie sinks~

"sadie?" millie asked, walking towards her.

suddenly sadie screamed, her voice piercing the dead silence, and she ran for the door.

millie reached out her hand, "sadie no!"

as sadie reached for the doorknob, the door shut.

millie had made the door shut itself.

sadie turned, gulped, and pressed her back against the door, her palms glued to the door.

millie gave an apologetic look, "i'm sorry, i didn't know i could do that"

sadie sank to the ground, tears coming out of her eyes. she hugged her knees to her chest and buried her face in her knees, her body still shaking.

millie kneeled in front of her, her lips parted.

sadie could see her.

sadie could see her.

"sadie," millie whispered, "i don't wanna hurt you,"

sadie looked up, her face tear-streaked. she wiped away a tear, "are you real?"

millie frowned, "i-i think i'm a ghost,"

sadie ran a hand through her ginger hair, and let out a sob, before wiping away another tear, "sorry," she said.

"sadie?"

"this is crazy," sadie mumbled to herself, "this is crazy. there's no way,"

"sadie, look at me,"

sadie looked into millie's eyes.

millie sent her a soft smile.

tears slid down sadie's cheeks, as her shaky voice said, "millie, i thought you were dead,"

millie chuckled, "do you not know what a ghost is?"

sadie wiped her tears and turned her head quickly to the sudden thumping of someone running up the stairs. sadie stood up and stepped away from the door as finn swung it open, panting.

"sadie, what? what's going on?" fin said, shutting the door, "i heard you scream,"

sadie started at finn, who was staring back at sadie, his eyebrows drawn together in worry.

sadie then looked at millie.

millie was breathless, starting at finn. sadie couldn't describe the feeling that millie's stare brought her. millie was looking at finn with hope and love and longing. her eyes were wide and she just stared at finn holding her breath.

and millie did have hope. if sadie could see her, may be finn could see her.

sadie looked back at finn, as finn drew his eyebrows closer to together, "what?"

sadie raised her eyebrows and pointed to millie, "you don't- you don't see that?"

"see what?" finn asked, following sadie's finger.

"millie," sadie cried, "she's standing right there,"

finn shook his head, shooting sadie a threatening glare, in a depp, low voice warning, "sadie, it's not funny,"

"i'm not kidding!" she yelled, pointing,"she's right there,"

"stop sadie," millie said, turning to her, "he's not gonna believe you,"

"sadie," finn said, softly, "she's gone,"

"no! she's right here, she's right here next to me! how can you not see her?"

"sadie stop! this isn't a joke-"

"finn-"

"sadie, i loved her! this is serious! the more you try to give me hope, the harder it hurts," finn yelled.

sadie looked down at her ring. she raised her eyebrows and stared at millie as she took off the ring.

her eyes widened, then she put it back on, then off again.

"sadie-" finn started.

"it's the ring!" sadie exclaimed, holding it up, walking towards finn, "here, put it on and you'll see her,"

finn smacked the ring out of her hand, staring at her in disbelief.

"i can't believe you're disrespecting her like this,"

"finn, if you would just-"

"sadie-"

"you have nothing to lose!" sadie yelled.

"sadie stop!" finn yelled.

sadie remained silent.

finn continued, "just.....don't come near me at school. okay?"

then he shut the door behind him.
