"where are you going?"

"to kill him, obviously," said sadie nonchalantly.

"you don't mean that," millie said.

"no," sadie said, "but i'm going to get pretty fucking close,"

millie's eyes were wide as she grabbed sadie's arm, pulling her back, "woah, sadie let's think for a second,"

"the only thing i need to think about is his face behind bars," sadie said, shrugging millie's arm off.

"you can't tell anybody about this," millie said, reaching for sadie again.

sadie scoffed, "and why the fuck not?"

millie bit her lip. there were so many reasons why she didn't want to: she didn't want to be seen as a slut, she didn't want wyatt to get in trouble for witnessing a crime and not reporting it, she didn't want to put her parents through that pain and make them pay for a lawsuit.

but after hearing how that that night and charlie's drug affiliations might be connected- she didn't want to land her brother in jail. but sadie doesn't know that they could be connected.

millie just shook her head.

"i don't....i just don't think it's a good idea,"

sadie raised her eyebrows, "well, i'm not hearing a reason not to, so-"

"just don't! okay?" millie yelled suddenly.

sadie shook her head, biting the inside of her cheek. she was angry- and millie knew. sadie wasn't the kind of person to keep quiet if something was wrong. plus, her anger would usually be seen from mike's away.

sadie pursed her lips, "fine. then charlie has to go to jail,"

millie froze, "what!? no!"

"then brenner goes," sadie said, crossing her arms.

"shit sadie," millie said, running a hand rough her hair, "i.....we don't want to stir up any trouble okay? let's just pretend nothing ever happened,"

sadie stepped back, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear. her mouth was wide open.

"millie," sadie said slowly, her eyes trained on millie's, "i have no idea what the fuck has gotten into you- but you just found out you were raped- and you don't want me to report it?"

"i....." millie dragged on, "just don't,"

sadie smacked her lips together, shaking her head, "you're hiding something,"

"what!? no," millie said, her heart pounding.

"god, millie, you know i hate being lied to," sadie said as she threw her hands up in the air.

"everybody does," millie said, then shook her head, getting back to the point, "and anyways, i'm not lying,"

sadie shook her head, "so what? you just expect me to sit here, knowing charlie has a drug hub at his bar, knowing that a thirty year old man raped you, and you want me to do nothing?"

millie's piercing eyes stayed focused on sadie. she didn't know what to say. it was stupid to want to protect her brother. she deserved to go to jail. but......ava would have lost two siblings. she'd be alone.

"yes," millie conformed.

suddenly, sadie's phone dinged.

sadie suddenly stood up, walking towards it. she checked the screen, giggled, then closed it, walked to her dresser.

"who's that?" millie asked.

"caleb," sadie said, her aggressive look returning, sighing his name as she grabbed a grey sweatshirt from her closet.

"caleb?" millie asked, scrunching up her nose, "what is he doing here?"

sadie pulled the sweatshirt over her head, passive-aggressively saying, "while you were busy sneaking around and lying to me, caleb asked me on a date,"

millie took a step back, "what?"

"to the movies," sadie said, "and i'm going right now,"

millie's jaw was slightly open, "but, we have things to talk about,"

"it really doesn't seem that way," she said, tying her hair up in a bun, facing the mirror, "it seems like you sorted everything out,"

"yeah but-"

"yeah but what, millie? unless you're going to tell me what you've been hiding, or-or let me tell you my plan, i'm out," sadie said, putting on makeup, "i don't want to fight with you. but you can't just keep treating me like a dog,"

millie scoffed, "like a dog?"

"yeah," sadie said, putting her brush down, heading towards the door, "you only come to me when you want to, you tell me what you want me to know, you use me. i actually have a life, okay?"

"i know, but once we get this sorted out-" millie started.

"millie, i can't let you keep controlling my life!" sadie yelled, her fists clenched.

"i'm not controlling you," millie said, scoffing.

"yes you are!" sadie cried, "you're controlling my life, and technically, you're not even supposed to be in it anymore!"

millie gasped, stepping back, "sadie, you don't mean that,"

sadie rolled up her sleeves, her hand on the doorknob, "yeah," she said, "i do,"

then the door slammed.

and millie was alone.

ooh.
