Chapter 17

Veronica POV

We were still on our quinjet heading out of Sokovia. Banner was listening to opera in his headphones when Nat interrupted him.

"Hey, the lullaby worked better than ever" she said.  "Just wasn't expecting a code green" he said smiling shyly. Me and Steve looked at each other smirking.

"If you hadn't been there, there would've been double the casualties. My best friend would've been a treasured memory" Nat said.

"You know, sometimes exactly what I want to hear isn't exactly what I want to hear" Bruce said. "How long before you trust me?" Nat asked.

"It's not you I don't trust" he said. "Thor, report on the Hulk?" She asked. "The gates of Hell are filled with screams of his victims" Thor said. I looked st him wide eyed while Steve just smiled.

Nat glared at him and Banner groaned in despair. "Uh, but, not the screams of the dead, of course. No, no uh....wounded screams, mainly whispering, a great deal of complaining and tales of sprained deltoides and ..uh...and gour" Thor said.

"Did I do good?" he whispered to me. "Nope, no where near good" I said.
"What happened back there?" Banner asked me.

"It was the enhanced. She kinda choked me with her powers" I said. "Well if you find someone same as you on field, you tend to destroy them" Tony said.

"She is not like me" I said annoyed. Everybody looked at me. "She is powerful than me" I said. "She had me down in a second" I continued.

"Ronnie..if there is anyone in the world who have the best control of their powers, its you. You don't even use them occasionally" Steve said.

"Yeah, that doesn't make you weak or her strong. You are controlling them, not experimenting them. She got her powers through experiment, so it's obvious you have not used a corner in your power system" Tony said.

"Yeah, you get to choose your powers. If you want them strong, you can always make them" Thor said.

"I'll..... try" I said. Steve rubbed by back giving me a smile. I returned it. "Hey Banner, Dr. Cho's on her way in from Seoul, is it okay if she sets up in your lab?" Tony asked.

"Uh, yeah, she knows her way around" Bruce said. "Thanks. JARVIS tell her to prep everything, Barton's gonna need the full treatment" Tony said.

"Very good sir" JARVIS replied. "Take the wheel" he ordered which JARVIS did.

Tony looked at the scepter. "It feels good, yeah? I mean, you've been after this thing since SHIELD collapsed. Not that I haven't enjoyed our little raiding parties, but" Thor cut him off.

"No, but this...this brings it to a close" he said. "As soon as we find out what else this has been use for. I don't just mean weapons. Since when is Strucker capable of human enhancement?" Steve asked.

"HYDRA has been capable of human enhancement. You're girlfriend could have been the first one...no offences Ronnie" Nat said. "I've been telling it. I am saying it again. Just get that stick out from here so that it doesn't cause something more" I said to Thor.

"Banner and I'll give it the once before it goes back to Asgard. Is that cool with you?" Tony asked Thor. He nodded.

"I mean, just a few days until the farewell party. You're staying right?" Tony asked him. "Yes, yes, of course. A victory should be honoured with revels" Thor said smiling.

"Yeah. Who doesn't love revels. Captain?" He asked. "Hopefully this puts an end to the Chitauri and HYDRA, so...." He looked at me.

"You're girl will be there" Tony said. "I never said that" I argued. "She will" Tony said to Steve without responding to me. "Yeah, revels" Steve said.
