Chapter 5

Veronica POV

We looked up at the sky to see more Chitauri soldiers coming in and more crawling thing.

"Guys" Nat said referring to the alien invasion. "Call it, Cap" Tony said.

"Alright listen up. Until we can close that portal up there, we're gonna use containment. Barton, I want you on that roof, eyes on everything. Call out patterns and strays. Stark you got the perimeter. Anything gets more than three blocks out you turn it back or you turn it into ash" Steve ordered.

"Wanna give me a lift?" Clint asked. "Right. Better clench up, LEGOLAS" Tony lifts Clint up to the building.

"Thor, you've gotta try and bottle neck that portal. Slow them down. You've got the lightening. Light the bastards up" he said. Thor lifted of swiftly with his hammer.

"You two, me we stay here on the ground keep fighting here. Ronnie I want you tear every single Chitauri here" he said to me. "Noted" I said and then he turned to Banner.

"And Hulk....." the Green monster looks at him. "SMASH!" He said. Hulk smiled a grin and leaped high up into the nearest building.

Me and Steve were still fighting ceaselessly but they just seem to come back again and again. Nat was fighting on the other end.

I see a  group of soldiers charging at me. "Don't you just stop! " I gritted through my teeth. I take the two guns from my suit and shoot them without stopping till every one of them was on the ground.

I hear one behind me. I turned around only to see it leaping on me when Steve came in and used his shield to push it.

"Uhg. ...thank You!" I said taking my breath bending down putting my hands on my knees. "You alright?" He asked. "Yeah....just tired. You know.... I think I am the dumbest person in the planet..." I said when a soldier came at Steve. "What makes you say that?" He said punching and pushing it off him.

I found one coming at me. I kicked it, caught its neck and flipped it down on the ground. "Abandoning my days of living to get a 'doctor' before my name only to kick some aliens' ass" I said breathing. Steve smiled at me.

I see another one next to Steve. I tear him out with my powers. "You are not dumb" he said. I looked at him. He looked me in the eye. "You are not dumb. You are the most intelligent and the strongest person I've ever met" he said. I just stood there looking at him.

"Did someone bribe you to say that?" I asked him laughing. "No...no" he said holding his hands up. "I thought you said this was not the place to flirt" I heard Nat in my ear. "Exactly!! Nat you beat me by a second. I was going to say that" Clint said. "I am agreeing too!" Tony shouted.

"Fine! Fine!...guys stop!" I said when both me and Steve smiled at each other. He was cute.  Right I am crushing in the middle of a battle.

"Wanna kick more ass?" He asked. "Yeah!" I said laughing and we did.

We fought and fought and fought. Nat using a energy rifle takes a soldier down and slumps back tired.

"Captain none of this is gonna mean a damn thing if we don't close that portal" she said breathing heavily.

"Our biggest guns couldn't touch it" Steve said. "Maybe it's not about guns" I said and both me and Nat looked up at the flying gestures.
