Chapter 23

Veronica POV

By the time we arrived at the tower, Tony and Banner were already working with the cradle.

"I'm gonna say this once " Steve said.

"How about none-ce" Tony said. "Shut it down, Tony! We've seen enough" I said.

"You don't know what you're doing" Steve tried. "And you do? She's not in your head?" Banner gestures to Wanda.

"I know you're angry" Wanda tries. "Oh, we're way past that. I could choke the life out of you and never change a shade" he said angry.

"Banner, after everything happend-"

"It's nothing compared to what's coming" Tony shouted.

"You don't know what's in there" Wanda said. "This isn't a game!" Steve shouted. Suddenly Pietro runs around the cradle and unplugged everything.

"No, no. Go on. You were saying?" There was a gunshot and he falls through the glass below. Wanda shouts for her brother.

"I'm rerouting the upload" Tony said. Cap throw his shield at him. He shoots at him

"Stop!" I shouted. Wanda uses her magic and pushes of Bruce who held her. Clint just enters.

Steve goes for a punch at Tony when he pushes him of. "I said STOP!" I banged on the cradle which sent a wave of force.

"Are you guys done? Tony! Stop this now" I shouted very angry. Just then Thor entered. He drops electricity on the cradle.

"Wait!" Banner shouted. The cradle explodes and Thor was thrown. The body inside jumps and crouched on the edge looking at us.

It then plunges at Thor, but he catches it and throws him across the room. He stops in front of the window. We approached towards it.

"I'm sorry. That was odd. Thank you" it said to Thor. "Thor. You helped create this?" Steve asked him.

"I've had a vision. A whirlpool that sucks in all hope of life, and its centre is that " he said gesturing the stone on the new body's head.

"The gem?" I asked. "It's the Mind stone. It's one of the six infinity stones. The greatest power in the universe, unparalleled in its destructive capabilities" Thor said.

"Then why should you bring-"

"Because Stark is right" Thor said. "Oh, its definitely the end times" Banner added.

"The Avengers cannot defeat Ultron" Thor said. "Not alone" the creature said.

"Why does your he sound like JARVIS?" Steve asked. Yeah I noticed that too.

"We reconfigured JARVIS' matrix to create something new" Tony said.

"I think I've had my fill of new"

"You think I'm a child of Ultron" he asks. "You're not?" Steve asked. "I'm not Ultron. I am not JARVIS. I'm...I'm..." it tried.

"I looked in your head and saw annihilation" Wanda said. "Look again" he said. Then he looked at me.

"Look Doctor" it said. I looked at him not knowing what to do. "I.....cannot do it" I said.

"You don't know to do it" he said. I narrowed my eyes at him. "Why me?" I asked. "Because you are the only one in this room, mature enough to understand" he said.

That brought a smile to my face. "Okay. I like you. You have my vote. You can live" I said.

"Their powers, Ronnie your powers, the horrors in our head, Ultron himself, they came from the Mind Stone. And they're nothing compared to what it can unleash. But with it our side-" Steve cut Thor off.
